It's the amnesty clause, I believe you're referring to. Golden Boy, Brandon Roy forced us to use that on him. But hey, at least according to his agent, he could finally be at peace. Is there a way we can rid ourselves of Turner Salary this off season? There was a rule in the Association where we could swallow one bad contract. is this still in place?

Crabbe fits the team, Turner doesn't - it's as simple as that, IMO. I just don't see Turner as a good Western Conference player. Hopefully he proves me wrong against GSW!But isn't that exactly what Crabbe is, a specialist? One of the highest (possibly THE) highest paid specialists in the league?
Yeah, Turner is also overpaid, but he creates for himself and others, rebounds and plays pretty damn good perimeter defense.
Crabbe is better at his one thing, but Turner is more versatile. It seems like Crabbe could be replaced with one player, where it might take more than one player to replace Turner, and you can only play 5 players at a time.
In the end, one of them NEEDS to be moved and I'm fine with moving one, or the other, or both, what ever gets us the most in return and hopefully saves us a significant amount of money.

Untouchable? Not even close.34 minutes, 15points, 6-10FG 3-4 3pt, 4rbs, 2assts, 1 steal and only 1 foul. Pretty impressive for a guy that never plays. Oh and only 1turnover.
i would use it on Leonard in a heartbeat.I believe that the CBA they negotiated recently, starting next year, does not include the amnesty clause. I wish it did, but I wouldn't use it on a player like Crabbe or Turner, they're actually tradeable.
Why do you think it's such a stretch for Pat to replace Crabbe?Jesus Christ.
Why do you think it's such a stretch for Pat to replace Crabbe?
Pat is shooting 0.52 on 3s (granted on a relative small sample size - 33 attempts).
For a more equitable comparison, in college Pat shot 0.386 (over 4 years) while Allen shot 0.382 (over his 3 years) from 3.
When you look at advanced numbers, Pat is comparable or better across the board.

I have been of the belief for some time now...that Pat C can be the replacement for Crabbe in our rotation. Given the same minutes he will produce adequately. He might even work better WITH Turner than AC does.
I hope the Neil will use the offseason to trim salary by making an unequal trade involving Crabbe and other assets. We cannot afford to have so much devoted to TWO reserves. Maybe one, but not two!

Let's add Turner to the comparison. I'm all for trading Crabbe, but we should get decent value in return for him, and be patient if necessary. I'm fine with Turner being a salary dump, but Crabbe should get us something good. Why do you think it's such a stretch for Pat to replace Crabbe?

Turner is a moderately better Aminu. Turner might be more versatile than Crabbe, but versatility only matters if you're above average across several aspects of the game - Turner is only above average on defense. I get what you're saying about needing two players to replace Turner vs one to replace Crabbe - but I still think we'd be a better team by doing so. I don't like Turner running point - he's only slightly better at it than CJ was. Shabazz might not set up guys quite as well but he scores a lot better - and I think the point differential between Bazz's scoring and Turner's assists would favor Bazz.
Anyway, we've both made up our minds as to who the least needed player is, and we both agree that ideally both would be traded.
But that won't fly here. Makes too much sense!I wish we could do player comparisons post-ASG. I'm almost willing to give everyone a pass until next trade deadline because we had such a decimating year at the C position until February.

Easy-peasy. Just go to basketball-reference.com, select the player, click on splits, select 2016-17 and scroll down to All-Star.

The improved shooting percentages, ORtg, DRtg and +/- are all very impressive.

I know about single player splits, but doing a player-to-player comparison is manual and I am teh lazy. I'll do that at lunch though.
We haven't seen Turner in the playoffs yet. I think that will be huge in deciding who to move and who to keep this summer. Defense still wins championships. Playing GSW in the first round isn't really a fair test of individual defense, but if Turner and Aminu can do a good job limiting (nobody's stopping them) Durant and Thompson, it will give Neil something to consider this summer.
I still feel that Crabbe is easier to replace, either through internal growth (Patty Baseball!), or with one of our three draft picks.

Pat looks to be a better rebounder, and is clearly a better ball handler and passer. As much as folks complain about Crabbe's defense, he probably has the edge there, at least when he decides to crank it up. It remains to be seen if Pat is as automatic as Crabbe shooting the ball, but it sure looks like it. For a guy who never plays, it seems like Pat always looks comfortable on the floor, and he seems to have basketball smarts.I have been of the belief for some time now...that Pat C can be the replacement for Crabbe in our rotation. God you people sometimes. Do you apply this type of logic to your day to day...... like if you JUST squeeze thru a yellow light once, you say fuckit and try it the rest of the day? Or the one time you awkwardly made the mistake of thinking a female looked at you up at the coffee shop and just assume all chics want you from that moment on.
