Did the Blazers get a better haul for Dame than Utah got for Mitchell?

We got a comparable haul commiserate to his contract and with the added benefit of fucking over Miami tipping the scales.

Losing one of my favorite players ever isn't a big deal, but surely in the case that Miami fans are now disgruntled, well, now I am totally satisfied. Cronin is such a genius for understanding why I am a fan for Portland and its players.

I think some of you are too desperate to frame this as a win.
The truth is we didn't get any players we can count on in this trade.
We got players who are unreliable due to injury or character.

The deal was made in the wrong timing under bad circumstances. It's okay, we got a bad roster right now, but it might turn into other good players in the future.

Personally, I'd rather be honest with myself and not have fantasies about the future dominance of Ayton,Brogdon being 6th man of the year, Williams being healthy, Simons developing mean D etc.
You do realize that other people are allowed to have their own opinions, right? I disagree with you as strongly as I could, but I'm not going to tell you how to think. Try it sometime.

I’d like to think that we got a haul for Dame, who at 33 and a huge contract, would never permit Cronin to “build a contender around Dame.”

i loved watching Dame! But I’m very happy we are building around Scoot, Sharpe, Ant, Ayton, Williams and I include Grant. Having Brogdon as part of a four-guard rotation lends some experience.

I couldn’t be more excited for the season(s) ahead!

Go Blazers

PS: At the deadline we can look to trade Thybulle and a 1st to obtain a missing piece should we be contending for a solid playoff spot.

Man, that's actually a great point. Obviously, Matisse is someone Dallas covets. He may net us a decent return as he is reasonably priced. Either that, or he becomes our defensive stopper at the 2/3.

Gotta like MaThreese. He never stops smiling,.

I don't think we should trade Thybulle. I think he's a great veteran for this young team.

Eventually, it might make sense to move him if he gets a good return. If a team like Dallas that desperately needs a guy like him and will part with a 1st or more, it would be really hard to turn that down.

Miami fucked themselves over. Those douche nozzles never had the goods to get Dame and were blinded by hubris. I'm enjoying their pain very much.

As soon as Dame saw Jimmy Butler's new haircut there was no way he was going to Miami.

To officially answer the misleading OP. No we didn't. But that doesn't mean i don't really like what we ended up with anyhow.
Joe did fantastic!!!

Ayton would probably get here for Nurkic and Little anyways. At least Markkanen was a good starter, we got nothing equivalent to that

...And I don't like the recent hype around Ayton here lately. Like you guys haven't followed the Suns at all these past 2 years. Who the fuck even wanted him?
I mean, IND gave him a max contract.... :dunno:

It's still an asset for free and they're Indiana. Why wouldn't they?

My point was nobody wanted him enough to give up something valuable for him.
