Osias Damany Iqwé.

Do people mispronounce his name and call him Oasis? My brain wants to see Oasis because the letters are all there. I remember reading a study that you can still figure out a word even if it's misspelled if the first and last letter are in the right place. Either way, it's a cool name.

Thank you. His name is pronounced (oh-SY-us) so it doesn't sound like (oh-A-sis). However, one of my requirements for his name was that we'd teach him an eloquent retort just in case someone called him Oasis. You know how kids are.

Only half-joking, they said it's actually an acronym for Oh shit, it really is slow. The company was not a commercial success and went out of business.

Depends on how you define labor. It officially starts when your water breaks, but active labor (contractions and dilation of the cervix), may not start until a few hours later. Typical first time active labor lasts between 8 - 18 hours.
