Do Real Men Cry?

Boehner is an embarrassment. We already have a President whose wife has him on a leash to the point he runs out of a joint press conference with Bill Clinton last Friday to see her, and now we have an incoming House Majority Leader who can't make it through Marley and Me without losing his shit and turning into a blubbering mess.

Nancy Pelosi and Sarah Palin are more "manly" than those two weenies, and much tougher as well.

when you get hit in the bollocks, you deserve a good cry.

I'm an emotional guy when it comes to human interest stories. Like ESPN:60 and Make A Wish type stuff.

screw anyone who makes fun of me I dont care. If the Ducks pull it off against Auburn I will be crying. And the day I see the Blazers win a title you can damn well bet I will be crying as well.

and I got misty eyed as I witnessed the Sunflower goal a few months ago.

Hey, I'll be misty-eyed/crying as well. Then again, I don't have to negotiate with countries and lead a nation/congress. If you've ever been in a situation where your "leader" cries for no real reason other than being a bit emotional, it's uncomfortable and makes you question them a bit.

I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but having been in two situations like that, I do know that underlings like I was at the time talked about if quite often, and decisions from those people were questioned afterward.

I cried the first time I had a kidney stone. Second two I was able to stay a little more composed, knowing what was going on, and that I wasn't exploding slowly from the inside.

Try watching Whale Rider and not crying.

That is interesting. I actually didn't cry during either of mine, but I sure was in agony. First one was a uric stone from college, beer, working out/skiing, chewing tobacco, and never drinking water, and the second was a protein stone from using pure creatine powder to build up muscle mass after getting out of college and moving back to PDX.

I did go to the ER on the second one, tough, and got a morphine IV. Pissed out a little pebble a few days with a bunch of gunk and all was good. I'm guessing you had larger stone than either of mine.

I was 17 when I had my first. It wasn't crying in the just sitting there sobbing way, but tears were coming out while I was screaming. The second was tiny, so didn't hurt, just soreness. Third one I had to have surgery. The aftermath of the surgery, basically, every time I pissed hurt like hell. For two weeks.

That's fucking disgusting.

My pain threshold is ridiculous, not sure the last time I cried from pain. But, when it comes to seeing children suffer or stories about people overcoming great odds, I get a little teary eyed.

LOL at a republican politician pretending to have feelings.

The guy isn't slick; he's corny. The American Dream obviously means a lot to him. He's lived it. One of 12 kids who took seven years to graduate college because he had to work to pay for it, started a multi-million dollar plastics business and now finds himself as Speaker of the House?

He wants future generations to have the same opportunities and he obviously thinks the American Dream is in danger of dying out. I have no beef with him tearing up about it. If I start to think about the limited horizon my son will likely face, it bothers me too.

We're so used to polished politicians who manufacture their feelings (Obama, Clinton, Romney, etc.) that seeing someone from the heartland that wears their heart on their sleeve seems contrived. The guy is real. It's a damn sight better than a Speaker who is so full of Botox she constantly looks surprised.

If I get angry, there are only a few choices I have found to relieve the stress.

1. Smash something
2. Smash someone
3. Cry

1 and 2 suck, either I break something I like or I hurt someone. I have done enough of those two in my lifetime. I like 3, it works best.

I am just glad I got the smashing stuff phase over with before flat screen televisions became popular.

stuff like this.

I would probably cry is Arsenal won the Premier League but it doesn't look like that's going to happen any time soon.

All my life I have heard of this thing "crying." If you explain what it is, I'll be able to answer the thread title.

Kidney Stones are serious pain. I had one hit right after I boarded a militry flight from Fairbanks Alaska to Arkansas... and the pain was so bad I pondered ways to kill myself. The flight took an eternity.

I have about 2 kidney stones a week, no joke. The first one I had, when i was 16, I started throwing up all over the ER and then blacked out. The second one wasn't much better. Now, almost 23, I have them chronically (and have a small ureter to boot) but they are small and pass within an hour or two without THAT much pain.

Are you serious? That fucking blows.

Whoa, that really sucks. Do you get used to the pain, since you get them so frequently?
