Simple yes or no question.

This is not meant to be a heated discussion thread, there are enough of those.

This is for the statistics.

Do we equate god to a higher power? Like can we believe in some higher power but not specifically a god?

Absolutely, unequivocally, and most certainly.

Yes

God : the supreme or ultimate reality: incorporeal divine Principle ruling over all as eternal Spirit : infinite Mind

I certainly don't believe in any of the organized religions of today. That stuff is a bunch of crap. Not sure about the higher power thing...

I believe in a higher power but not necessarily or specifically a god. So not sure if that is a yes or no according to this poll.

Agnosticism is the view that the existence or non-existence of any deity is unknown and possibly unknowable.

So, maybe? :dunno:

So no, you don't believe there is a God.

I'm not asking if you believe there is no God, or if you believe God is impossible.

Do you believe in unicorns?

In my opinion, being full on agnostic is a huge cop out.

Everyone here should have an answer to the question, "Do you believe in God?"

It's a yes or no question.

But it's not as simple as "yes" or "no".

Are you talking about the Christian god? If that's what are you seeking, then no. I don't believe in an old guy sitting on a throne deciding who lives and who dies.

I think in this instance, believing in a higher power constitutes as believing in God. It doesn't have to be the Christian God.

Maybe we could do a poll asking if you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior or something.

I think if you belief in a conscious higher power; it would be of God. I don't think it is filtered for just Christianity or any modern or classic belief.

If you think there is, let's say, a conscious universe that planed our existence per say; that would be a yes.

Personally, I disagree with that notion. From an absolute purist perspective, I believe that: either you believe in God...absolutely including, the only way to eternal life with Him is through honest faith in Jesus Christ (as the way, the truth, and the life.)

.....or you don't believe in God at all.

In other words, you might think you believe in something, but what does it get you in the end. That's where the rubber truly meets the road.

If anyone here totally disagrees with what I've just said, that's OK. I'm merely stating what I believe to be truth.

No I get you; but that really wasn't the question by vanilla. He is asking "do you believe in a conscious higher power?" In this regard, my definition is the true question.

Debating who is this being is for another thread.
