I was reading the million dollar thread and i saw this thing about church so... What do you guys think? is this whole god thing fake or real?I think its a big scam to get your money. seriously what does jesus need 10% of your income for????i dont kno many facts but if you wanna fill me in go aheadDebate!

He doesn't need 10% of your income, it's a way of showing complete devotion to God, by turning over every aspect of your life including your finances to him.

The church uses it to spread God's word and advance his kingdom on Earth.

The only "churches" that demand your money is the Mormon and Scientoligy "churches" and they are borderline cults. Most churches do really really great things with the money they recieve in donations. I dont understand where your sayin churches demand money. They dont, and if they did, thats not a church, its a cult.

Its pretty hard to get the word of God around the world without using some sort of currency.

If god is "all powerful", could he microwave a burrito so hot that he himself couldn't eat it?

Keep it on-topic and mature guys. This isn't a topic on God, it's about tithing.

tithing? :Pand whats the benefit of going to a church anyway??

Fabolous, I'm not going to debate with you if you're going to be immature and insult other people's beliefs. If you believe in God then it's obvious what the point of going to church is.

I don't go to church,I don't trust it after what happened in the middle ages and im not religious. However,I do not believe it's a scam since your not forced to pay,you go to chuch if you want.

Is optional if you want to pay and help out the church, I see no problem with it.

I don't go to church unless it's a Holiday, but I think people who do and give money and time to the church are really cool. They have something they believe in and it is something constructive (usually). You have to feel good about the people who can put their faith in something they cannot see, touch or smell. It says a lot about the person and you have to respect that. I wish I had the power to do that.

They just use their money to support the cause they believe in, like people do in politics.

I agree. Churches can be a ripoff. They tell you it's for the church but you know that it's going in the ministers pocket books.

Like monopoly money, priests bribing kids with it. :shifty2:

Oh, yeah that would work out great

Well I forsee your economey of "Jesus money" collapsing very quickly, so I'm trading in my dollars yet.

Well that was very appropriate, you just got lucky on that one.
