I rarely can remember any dreams I have, but last night I had one whereas I was traveling all over, happening on certain places and events. One of which was, I think, a concert and @SlyPokerDog showed up with his band (Sly, did you ever play in a band?). I know it was Sly, because I've met, and had beers with, Sly.

The whole thing was rather nondescript, but I do remember Sly standing there, bass guitar slung around his neck, with some big ol' cheesy smile on his face. I don't really recall anything after that, but he seemed to be having a great time.

Wait! Perhaps I should have entitled this thread, "Do You Have Nightmares?" Kidding Sly. Juuuuuust kidding. :)

I have a lot of weird-ass dreams.

I git it. ;)

For example (and I think it was because a loud truck was driving around my neighborhood at the time), I had a dream where a semi truck driver decided to drive off into a lake (like a suicide I guess), and I just stood there and watched and was like "oh. Hm..."

Interesting. I do think I had some bad dreams following watching the movie Duel.

That said, do you generally have dreams surrounding recent events? And/or, do you delve into your past....or even childhood?

for the most part, my dreams are more centered around my youth, BUT involve people I know now (via work, friends).

I dream quite a bit. Sometimes I know I am in a dream. I have also experienced having the same dream more than once. Three different dreams where I die.

The first I am on my knees. There is a person behind me with a gun. I don't know who they are. Just that it's a man. I hear the gunshot. I feel it. No pain. Just a overpowering numbness throughout my head. I know I have died. I don't wake up. I just feel it and consciously know this is what death feels like.

Another dream I am in a Forrest. There is a very tall wooden watch tower. I find myself at the top of it. As I am up there, I feel myself slip. I sense the loss of balance. I feel the breeze as I fall. I feel the hard thud of the landing. Most of my bones are broken. I lay there. I can smell the wet grass. I know I am dead. I don't wake up till after laying there for sometime.

The third dream. I am on a sidewalk in the city. I trip. I have no ability to stop myself. I fall and roll into the street. I can't get up. I can't move. It feels like I weigh a 1000 pounds and gravity is against every attempt to get out of the street. A car is coming. I see it's headlights in the distance. I can only lay there as it gets closer. I know it's coming for me. I can't move like I am being held down by some invisible force...maybe fear. The car runs me over. My head under the tire. It squishes me. I lay there like roadkill feeling strange sensations, knowing I am dead. I don't wake up till sometimes afterwards.

I actually haven't had these dreams for sometime now.

Had an odd one about a week ago. I was traveling around the country political campaigning. Which I have done but not for a very long time. Set up tables, hand out literature, go from town to town, sleep on supporters' floors. Something for the young. And a woman who was putting me up took me with her to ballet class. I didn't take ballet class until way after I stopped being a travelling campaigner. So a mixture of actual events many decades apart. Probably signifies nothing.

I have a reoccurring dream that I'm floating. Think about it like it's a falling dream, except floating without control. I'm always lucid too and it is so frustrating. Trying to follow something in the dream only to be pulled away, then running into shit and breaking things. No clue what it means.

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.

Which was better, the beers or Sly? My money is on the beer.

The last I remember was the Wheels event at the Claim Jumper in Tualatin. Sly was a huge help in getting those put on. Probably my most favorite event, though, was the KP Meet & Greet at Hayden's Lakefront Grill in Tualatin. That was epic. I swear KP left that place wondering what he had gotten himself into. Anyhoo, I always enjoyed those times with Sly. I think we did another KP M&G at the Blazers' practice facility, and a Rich Cho M&G there, as well. The Blazers were pretty freaking accommodating to us.

I think we did three or four at Hayden's. One or two with Wheels and one or two with someone I can't recall.

I only attended one at Hayden's. I'm sure you guys did follow-ups there. The Rich Cho pizza party was pretty cool. Was it Bobby Medina that gave us all tours of the workout area? I think they also coordinated workouts for us. Ugh.

Oh shit, Sly told me not to tell you about the others at Hayden's and here I am Mr. Big Mouth.

I have lots of dreams that my mental health counselor calls wet dreams, whatever those are.

NOBODY does Hayden's like KP, though Nobody. I'm sure Neil Olshey was a real blast, though. ;)

KP and Cho stand out for me.

I generally remember at least 3 dreams a night and have since I was a child. And I still remember pretty much every single one. It is a huge part of my life. Several of the songs I have "written" were actually written by myself in a dream and then figured out once I was awake. Dreams are big for me.

That's awesome. I'm kinda jealous.

We are all different, and have different strengths and weaknesses. I thrive on the creative and lack other things. Like, I'm sure you know how credit works, and can balance a checkbook. Haha. I can remember dreams, and write songs, and create art. You can't always have both.

I have had weird dreams about totally random and unimportant things that actually happen. I usually realize about halfway through that I dreamed it. Sometimes years in advance. It’s too bad I can’t dream lottery numbers. Hasn’t happened as much as I have gotten older though.

If I smoke weed regularly for awhile then quit I get crazy vivid dreams for a few days. Weed suppresses my dreaming for the most part, for whatever reason.

When I was a kid I had a reoccurring dream that there was a monster in my basement. I never saw the monster and the thing that was extra frightening about it was that the dream was from the point of view of the monster. There were very steep dark wooden steps that you had to walk up to get to the main floor, and much like a horror movie they would creak as you walked up them.

Each step up the stairs would be painfully slow and deliberate. Each step also required the monster to use their hairy hands with long terrifying nails to grab onto the railings of the stairs to help pull itself up. Along with the slow visual all I could hear were the stairs creaking from under each of its steps along with its soft breathing, it was overwhelming.

As it took each step it would slowly get closer to the door. It was an old wooden door that had a large gap at the bottom which allowed you to see the light from the other side coming through under it. I could feel my blood pressure and anxiety rise with every step, and although I can’t imagine the dream actually took that long it felt like it took an eternity for the monster to get from the bottom all the way to the top.

The dream was like torture and every time it finally got to the top of the staircase and reached the door and opened it is when it ended.

This is my experience too...never fails....fasting from weed I have vivid dreams...I enjoy the hell out of them..weed does tend to suppress my dreams as well.

I always did my best writing when the world is dreaming away and quiets down...it's like you can catch ideas in the air late at night....especially when I lived in urban areas in my younger days .I'm working on a song right now that's called, "You can have my dreams" .....I don't need them anymore. I'll just set them by the door for you." (opening lyrics)

Why does that suddenly remind me of the song, Walk On By?

j/k. Heh, just me being smarmy and snarky again. ;)
