Do you remember the first time you used the Internet?

See!!!! This is the proof I needed that you my nerdy friend are an UBER-DORK!!!!

I wish. I don't generally have the tech savvy to be a nerd, dork or geek.

Any of you young dorks ever experience the brilliance of that Usenet Oracle? Still the greatest invention the internet ever brought to human kind...

I think I first logged onto AOL in like 96. It was amazing to sign into the NBA chatroom and talk hoops.

A/S/L?

Around Halloween 1994. Spent a couple of hours on a computer at work looking for a Rocky Horror Picture Show audience script.

I believe it was at a friends house back in 95' or 96'?
We had AT&T dial-up if i remember correctly. I remember using IRC a lot back in the day.
Found out about the Columbine shootings in Grant HS's library(NEP). Netscape/Cnn.com

NEP!!!!!!!!!!

It must have been around 1995 or so, maybe later. My grandmother got AOL and my brother was showing me how to use it. He was on a website called thumbnail gallery post and I remember clicking on a girl's picture and it taking minutes upon minutes to load. I would wait the tittays to appear and if they weren't good enough I would hit the back button. HOW old fashioned that seems now.

I did a search for photos on the computer's hard drive and it came up with hundreds of pics of naked Asian women. My brother said he didn't do it and neither had I. That was the day we knew my uncle liked that Asian chicks. haha

I don't remember. I've been a user of computers and networks and messaging in various forms since the mid-70s and the Internet seems more like an evolution rather than a revolution to me, so there wasn't an a-ha moment (that I remember, anyway). I've been forgetful since the mid-70s, too, though, so who knows. What was the question?

Edit: I do remember the day the boss bought us 300-baud modems so that we could work at home. Man, we were on the cutting edge of the telecommuting revolution.

I was kickin' back with Al in his garage trying to tune out Tipper's incessant whining and he says "Hey MARIS61, come and look what I just invented!".
