At the end of the game the team with the most points still wins.Holding that other team to less means you need less. That's all there is to it.

People do far this summer have been saying "where it's our scoring going to come from". Neil makes an offer to a stuff offensive player and we complain about defense. Bottom line the list of dominate 2 way players is very short, pretty much the all NBA team.

I think some people might be thinking of it as you need both to really be a contender, and while we wont be this year, in a few, it would be nice to have some two way players

I agree it's just the Pickens are slim, so what a GM needs to do then is a mix of players for the bigger overall effect.

And all that said I'm not sure I want Kanter at a Max.

The reasons I hope the Thunder match.

1) Kanter can not spell “D”.
2) Kanter is a bit of a malcontent. Not a serious head case, but he could go either way in the locker room. Not an issue that you want in a player making the max.
3) Kanter makes 2 ½ times more turnovers than assists. This stat bothers me as much as his lack of D

As a side issue, how would Kanter fit in with the type of players Olshey is bringing in? Olshey is getting away from players that stretch the floor. I have no idea how Stotts is going to make this roster work, and I doubt Stotts does at this time.

I would rather offer $3-5 million to Kevin Seraphin than the max to Kanter.

The core that Olshey mentioned....Dame, CJ and Meyers, are all stretch guys. Kanter is also a stretch guy...a bit anyway

Take a look at Kanter's 2014/15 shot selection.

To get a clearer picture of his shooting stats, click on "Shot Zones", to the right of the chart.

I like that he takes his shots at the rim. He's also hitting more of his left wing baseline shots than LA was last year. Although LA was shooting a scorching percentage form the right wing, he didn't take that many in comparison.

Kanter stretches the floor sideways along the baseline.

Once he moves more than 6’ from the baseline, his shooting sucks.

OKC won't pay everyone (they can but they are cheap) so the question for them becomes, will they be more likely to win AND will Durant be more likely to stay if they keep Kanter, or if they keep several other players like Perry Jones and Augustine? That's what they are debating. I think they go with Kanter, but it's close.

Also they just watched LMA leave Portland to go in search of a ring. They're a little nervous that if they don't put the strongest possible team around Durant and Westbrook, both players will leave in search of greener pastures. OKC is in a win now mode, championship or bust.

Damn, Had to change my vote cause you sold me on this!

Only a handful of hours left. They still haven't matched...

I have to agree, and with the huge cap increases the next TWO years it will not IMO be a bad contract
Again, I think they have all day
agree, I think they have until 12:00am est

Think they're f'ing with us just like we f'ed with them with this offer.

The sad part is they probably think they are f'ing with us but I think it save to say we expected them to wait until the end.

Well that's more than 3 days technically

yeah..not to split hairs, and I am sure Brian from Washington knows for sure, but I read somewhere that it was 72 hours and the reason for paying attention to when the offer was received was that it nailed down exactly when they had to respond.

I have no clue, but this would seem right. Any other way, seems to grey.

I posted this in the other Kanter thread:
The player's prior team has three days from when it receives the Offer Sheet to "match" the Offer Sheet by agreeing to its terms.

Then there's this from David Aldridge last year when discussing the Rockets, Parsons, Bosh, and LeBron:
And the Rockets, of course, are further hampered because Bosh has expressed a preference to continue playing with LeBron James. But Bosh may not know where James is going to play next season in the next 72 hours, as James decides whether to return to Miami or go home and play with the Cavaliers, the team that drafted him first overall in 2003 and that is near his Akron hometown.

yep..I have read that as well. Three days. That is 72 hours. If teams were allowed to wait till midnight, they would trick fuck the system and stretch is out to almost four days. From what I understand the clock starts ticking from when the other team receives the signed offer.

Imma have a good little laugh when okc matches. Kanter would've had more value to Portland. He's not gonna be the difference between a championship in okc. Neither is he gonna be the difference between KD staying or going. Ive had a good feeling KD will leave ever since I heard his comments on Aldridge leaving Portland a week ago.

Shouldn't this be in thread with 6,276 pages?

We should be laughing at us. 3 pages here and another 20 or so in another thread?
