In the 2005 doc 'Reversal of fortune' they asked Ted Rodrigue to be in a documentary about being homeless. It was a plot to later surprise him by planting a briefcase in a dumpster with $100,000 in it.

They wanted to see what would happen when a homeless person found that kind of money.

He spent $38,000 on a truck, $10,000 on a car for his friend and spent most of his time in bars. In less than a year he was flat broke. It's a shame but what exactly were they expecting?

You can see this on Showtime OnDemand (ends on the 19th)

Here's one (in it's entirety) about the holocaust of the Indigenous people of North America from 1500 to the present:

I also enjoy docs. I've got 3 of the Ken Burns series (Civil War, Jazz and Baseball) as well as a few about WWII. American Experience is one of my favs on PBS.

Few years ago a bunch of my friends would get together in this kids garage to smoke and watch this. Like over and over again.. I was there twice but I didn't smoke. I was like WTF?

I had never heard of this band before this documentary, but now they're one of my favorites.

Can someone give me 100,000 bucks and film me for a year?

Probably one of the best documentaries I've seen is The King of Kong: Fistful of Quarters. Not kidding.

I can't imagine watching a film of you sitting on your ass watching hentai porn and eating Fritos would make for much of a documentary.

I actually had to google hentai porn. I would rep, but I think I rep'd you last week.

Plus, I hate Fritos. It's Sun Chips FTW!

Nope, apparently I hadn't rep'd you. I thought I had..

Seems like he spent it much more wisely than most people with an income would.

I've watched 2 friends blow comparable sized inheritances in a matter of months with nothing at all to show for it.

This guy has a nice truck that will probably last his lifetime, a friend who will be forever in his debt, and completely paid for a 365 day vacation.

If he's really really generous, he'll use his 100 grand to help out several conniving lawyers. He'll have nothing left except a good feeling from helping lawyers.

i like the dan akyroyd one on ufos on netflix right now.

hbo had a series called amerca undercover a few years ago, they always had pretty good shit, saw one on drug addicts, followed them for like 10 years, by the end they are all dead, in prison, have aids, etc, fucking brutal.

the michael moore stuff is ok.

alot of good ones coming out about all the financial shennanigans too.

Kind of want to see the greatest movie ever sold

X

Such propoganda. All documentaries are. You can manipulate the movie any way you want.

He did reach on a few things, especially with the beta blockers, but he did bring up a lot of good points about anabolic steroids and how they are demonized by the media.

I think a lot of it is just the way the movie was presented. It had a cult-like feel to it. I think the reason the people who reco'd it to me were crossfit trainers and they're a bit crazy with that kind of shit.
