Obviously, assuming we're never trading Dame, Anfernee is our best asset. But every time I try to think of a plausible trade, I run into the problem that (a) PG-sized non-PGs like him are not that valuable anyway, especially if they can't play defense, and (b) there are a LOT of them around the league, so it's hard to find a team that would offer anything of value for Ant. Obviously some are better than others (Donovan Mitchell is probably the Best Case Scenario) but still:
Tyrese Maxey
CJ
Jamal Murray
Jordan Poole
Jordan Clarkson
Gary Trent Jr.
Colin Sexton
Norm Powell
Cole Anthony
Malik Monk
Andrew Nemhard
Austin Rivers
Coby White

Borderline (are supposed to be PGs)
Terry Rozier
Dejounte Murray
Malcolm Brogdon/Marcus Smart
Jalen Suggs

This thread was a great idea if it was named OFFICIAL: NBA Trade Deadline...

Do better.

At 23, he is a lot younger than many of the guys on that list. And of the people his age or younger, are there many who have accomplished as much?

He's 1st in the league in 3 point attempts, and 3rd in three pointers made. He's really the best floor spacer of anybody on that list.

I'm actually in the camp that we ought to trade him for a more compatible teammate for Dame, but I also recognize he's got a lot of talent.

I bolded the guys in your first list that are nothing like Ant... that doesn't mean they're worse it just means they couldn't possibly be seen as having a similar skill set. The guys you have listed as borderline are borderline laughable comparisons.

So... no not every team doesn't have a guy like Ant.

If so, who cares?
I think the point was that if everyone already has a player that would make Ant redundant on their roster, he wouldn't have much trade value around the league. Obviously that list is incredibly flawed and there are likely quite a few teams that would have significant interest in acquiring Simons and would conceivably send us good value to do so.

Ant is more talented than most of those players but I can see how teams think they don’t need him.

I still think the team that might have the most interest in Ant is Dallas, and I would want Josh Green as part of the return. But then again, that assumes that they're a little bit dumb, because if Ant can't flourish next to Dame, I really doubt he can do it next to Doncic. And the backcourt defense would be atrocious.

I think it's a great fit. Doncic would help Ant get open, then pass out to him for easy threes.

Starting a thread with "Obviously" is so ridiculous. I stand by my suggestion that it should be a thread about the 2023 trade deadline.

Damian super fans trashing Ant is starting to get old. What is the point of this except to insult Ant with some nonsense you made up?

Your insult doesn’t even make sense. Ant is younger and already better than basically your entire list.

This post is bad and you should be embarrassed to have written something so meaningless and spiteful.

I was unaware I was a Damian Super Fan. I will look inside myself and try to do better in future. Thank you for the wake-up call.

Forgot to mention Cam Thomas.

I'm not sure it's ever been easier to score the basketball in the NBA ... why I hear the numbers that guys like Ant are putting up and they ring hollow.

GUYS AVERAGING 20 OR MORE POINTS A GAME:
2023- 45
2018- 28
2013- 11
2008- 31
2003- 26

GUYS AVERAGING 30 OR MORE POINTS A GAME:
23- 7
18- 1
13- 0
08- 1
03- 2

I also think guys coming in to the league are a lot more skilled than in previous yrs. Like hitting threes off the dribble. Feel like every guard can do that these days. Wasn't the case even ten yrs ago

I’m in build it around Ant/Sharpe camp but that supposedly makes me some sort of traitor or Dame hater or something.
