I can't decide if all the injuries make a trade more or less likely. On the one hand, we can't really trade injured players, but on the other, we can't afford to trade our healthy ones. But even with just nine healthy players, Bayless is third string PG...

I don't think you can make trades just to make trades. They have to look at the future again and realize that can't blow up this team just so we can make a push this year. Throw what we have left out there and hope they succeed. Man, have my expectations changed in the last week or what?

My worst fear is that KP starts dealing and just completely fucks it up. On the flipside, my best hope is KP actually makes some trades and strengthens the franchise for the coming years. Come December 15th I am going to be clenchin my butt cheeks together and hoping we don't get anally raped on a trade.

I guess you're right. At least by the time the season is over we will have answers on guys like Bayless, Martell, Cunningham, & Pendegraph b/c they are going to play.

If Martell plays like this all year, he wont be in the rotation next season.

Yes... in terms of the franchise, can fans be upset if we don't make the playoffs with four of our top 9 or 10 guys out? I don't think so.

The team is young enough to see what we can do shorthanded this year, otherwise look forward to next year.

If I were KP, I'd be looking at what did and didn't work prior to the major injuries and start pruning dead wood. Miller's not going to be a part of this team when it is ready to compete for a title. Blake's role needs to be cut to a backup or simply cut. Our SF position is woeful right now, but does KP see Batum as the longterm answer or does a move need to be made there? Outlaw's contract is done after this year. Unless he's really seen as a consistent 6th man, his ending contract should have some value. I'd make moves that fit with next year and beyond. Screw doing anything to try to shore up this season.

I have given up on that ever happening, just like I gave up on the coaching staff ever moving him out of the lineup about a year ago. I have came to terms that Blake will finish his career a Blazer, blowing fast breaks, and playing in front of people he has no right to play in front of, for the rest of his career.

I agree with this post. Miller probably is our best available trading chip and with his age and what has transpired so far I could see us moving him and an expiring (outlaw) for a player we need for the years ahead.

They wouldn't mind the cap relief, and that guy produces WHEN he's relied upon. The big knock on him is that he'll sit back when he's not needed that much and playing 20mpg, well we could use him (and his IQ) here.

Sign me up! He's producing for them at the moment, though... And I still think that BY FAR the most like player to be moved is Miller. And as I can't think of anybody who'd trade for him, we'll stand pat.

What is there to "blow up"? The house (cake) has already burned down. Howard and Miller are old. Oden, Batum, Rudy, and Outlaw are broken. Bayless could be a bright spot, but the coaches apparently loathe him. Blake and Webster are just depressing.

This is more like shoveling out the rubble, so they can try to rebuild around Roy and LMA.
