I just purchased a dog e-collar. I've heard that the tone function is a much better option than the stimulus function. Any of you having good success with these? Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks.

This is my rescue dog from Hawaii. We were only supposed to have Biggie Smalls for a week in Hawaii, but he spent the entire summer with us then I flew him home to Oregon.

I was working (at home) and my dogs starting barking. I got up to see what was up, looked out my front window, and saw some parked cars on the side of my street. There were a few folks huddled around what appeared to be a blanket. I walked out to check it out and quickly realized a dog had been hit. Sadly, it was deceased, The driver of the truck that hit it was pretty shook up. They had already called 9-1-1 and were waiting for them to arrive. I hung around to lend any support I could. They were holding another dog - a sibling of the one that had been hit. The owner showed up around 20 minutes later and you can only imagine that scene.

I've lost a couple of dogs in my life due to being run over by a vehicle. It's a terrible thing. I lived on a farm and there were no containment fences. Learned my lesson there.

Anyway, the whole thing kind of crapped out my afternoon. I love my dogs so much. I hugged them both for a long time once I came back in the house.

Show me a man who loves his dog, loves fishing and loves drinking a good ice cold beer and I'll show you a man I want to be around.
