Don't get used to it.

Did you notice any changes with the VA lately, buddy?

OHSU was taking care of some of dad's treatment for his prostate cancer and stroke follow-ups. Now, the VA will not allow him to continue seeing his doctors there. All of a sudden, the VA wants their doctors to take over all of his appointments for those issues.

Have you noticed that with other vets lately?

They are mostly in lawn care and maid service. Some in home remodeling. I don't see a big impact there.
Oregon isn't the entire country. What you see and what is really happening are two different things.

No, haven't noticed any changes. I did have to take an ambulance to OHSU because the VA's intensive care was full up about a year ago. The VA took care of the OHSU bill but they STILL haven't paid the ambulance bill. I got about my 12th notice from the ambulance company asking me to pay the bill. Geez, it's for a service connected condition for crying out loud.

To sum it up, the medical care is still quite good but the bill paying sucks.

Got another procedure in early July. I'm hoping all goes well.

Did I ever tell you I'm a cancer survivor? Yep, not only that but they changed the specification for the treatment of my type of cancer because of my case. I'm free and clear of cancer for about 8 years now so I think I'm in the clear for good.

I’m taking home an extra 75 bucks a week, so...
More power to ya. Wish more people could have extra money coming in.

Anyhow, I wouldn't get too used to it because Medicare and Social Security are going to take a hit down the road.

Since a lot of the illegals do the low paying jobs they can't afford to live amongst the coastal elites. I can drive anywhere in the Vegas valley within about 30-40 minutes. 20 minutes from my house is a huge area filled with them.

They rent 3 bedroom houses and fill them with 20 people. I bet I could find one with 5 construction work trucks on google earth. Be right back

I wasn’t gonna get that anyway because I won’t be retiring for 40+ years. In fact, I don’t think I should have it taken out of my check anymore.

Here. Near Charleston and sloan in east IMG_20180620_180415_01.jpg las vegas. The house I'm showing is probably no more than 1200 sq feet. Zoom in on google earth and scan the area. You'll find more houses with trucks and vans everywhere.

I am not a liberal and I haven't read through this whole thread but this needs posted if it hasn't already been:

The word "indisputably" in the thread title is wrong.

Like the Roy vs. Lillard threads, I will have to go with the fans with memories, and give the prize to Bush as far, far worse than Trump.

Bush was just way, way ahead in stats like killing, torture, and the advanced stat of surplus-conversion-to-deficit.

Ha!
I notice he is talking the talk. I think I notice he is trying to make the changes. But each new guy appointed seem to come right of the deep state ready bag. We get more of the same.
This latest change signed a few weeks ago, still waiting for a description from the VA as to what it means and what they are going to do. So far nothing.

Satisfaction With U.S. Direction Reaches 12-Year High
by Jim Norman

Story Highlights
  • Satisfaction rate of 38% is highest since September 2005
  • Second month in a row above 35%, also for the first time since 2005
  • Satisfaction rises among Republicans and independents, not among Democrats
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Thirty-eight percent of Americans are satisfied with the way things are going in the United States today, similar to last month's 37% satisfaction rate but marking the numerical high since a 39% reading in September 2005.

The satisfaction rate, which Gallup has measured at least monthly since 2001, has now topped 35% three times this year -- a level reached only three times in the previous 12 years (once each in 2006, 2009 and 2016).

Satisfaction with the nation is now back to the historical average of 37% for this trend, which was first measured in 1979, but is far below the majority levels reached in the economic boom times of the mid-1980s and late 1990s.

In its first four years (1979 and 1981-1983), satisfaction failed to reach 37% in any poll, but then routinely reached or exceeded that level in 1984 through 2005 polling, with the exception of 1992-1995 (excluding one 36% reading in 1994). After a January 2006 reading of 36%, satisfaction failed to surpass 35% the rest of that year, and with the economic calamities that followed over the next few years, it descended into single digits in two 2008 polls and has subsequently stayed mostly below 30%.

The rise in satisfaction over the past two months comes amid a spate of positive economic news -- including the shrinking of the unemployment rate to levels last seen in 2000 and the continuation of an economic expansion that is now the second longest on record. Other prominent national news stories have included independent counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian collusion; President Donald Trump's decision to withdraw the United States from the Iran nuclear deal; and Trump's negotiations with North Korea that culminated in his meeting Tuesday with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

And how do you know he doesn’t drink or do drugs? Because he said so? But you admit he lies. He also says he’s not into golden showers.
And he praised French wine. How would he know French wine is good if he never tried it? So either he liked that he does not drink or he lied that he tried French wine. Minor point, but illustrative.

He's on record telling 6.5 lies per day of his presidency....it's sort of what he does...they don't serve French wine at McDonald's though....his soda pop addiction clearly takes priority

Trump is not even close to being the worst pres in history.

He is not even as bad as the do nothing, smile while burning the constitution Obama.

Give Trump more time, he is working very hard to be the worst.
