Blockbuster being discussed. Mitchell to nyk. Russell to Jazz and Clarkson, Beasley and Beverly to Lakers with lots of picks going to the Jazz.

Jazz buyout Westbrick.

If Westbrook is bought out will the Pelicans be interested?

I think someone might be interested for the league minimum and Westbrick coming off the bench. His play was insanely erratic last year and was a main reason the Lakers sucked ass

On the surface, it does not seem like the Jazz will get any decent picks. The Knicks should be a lot better with Mitchell.
Do they own anyone elses?

I think they’re aiming to be in full rebuild mode so their plan is to suck ass and getting rid of Mitchell helps that goal.

So this isn't a viable trade for a number of reasons. One is the Knicks would still have to send out another player in the deal to make salaries work but obviously they could make that work. I can't imagine that the Jazz want to take on Randle's long term contract given what they're trying to do.

The Jazz could get a shitload of very decent picks though.

This trade can't go through until August 30th because PatBev and Beasley were recently traded but it could go through after that. Again I don't see the Jazz being interested in Randle.

They have 3 extra 1sts in 2023 (Dallas protected 1-10, Detroit protected 1-18 (protections decrease each year), and Washington protected 1-14 (last two the protections decrease each year it doesn't convey)). They also have the Milwaukee 2025 1st we traded Detroit for Grant (Duren trade). Plus all their own 1sts.

Not quite the way I had structured it, but I was saying a couple weeks ago that a deal sending Westbrook to Utah made a lot of sense.

I wonder if Ainge would see value in also shedding Conley's 2-years in a Mitchell deal. Westbrook bombing 3's in SLC would certainly help their tank. Knicks would also probably be more willing to give Barrett up in a Mitchell trade if they can offload Fournier as well.

This looks like something that could legit work for all 4 teams here.

That's just Laker Fan being delusional. If the Knicks acquire Mitchell, they are pairing him with Randle. They would most likely send Fournier , others, and picks to the Jazz to make it work. Ainge is gonna have to take salary back. The Lakers and Westbrook are buddies till next year. No one is taking back that salary.

I'd happily take a bet that the Knicks will be bad a number of seasons in the next 7 years. They have a 20+ year track record of these moves not working to back me up.

Do you think pairing two short score first poor defensive guards will make them an elite team?

I did not say they would be elite. I just don't think they will be in the lottery, which is why I said "it does not seem like the Jazz will get any decent picks". I am not saying the picks would be useless, just that if Utah was only getting NY's it would not be anything special.

Ainge should trade Mitchell for Simmons & picks. With Simmons availability on any given day, it would surely help the tank process he seems "Hell Bent" on achieving.
Is there word yet on whether Simmons is willing to play yet this year?

WTF could the Lakers possibly offer Ainge? FRP in 27 and 29? whoopdeedoo
