I believe we will start being more self reliant as a nation, and less reliant on foreign imports. Farming would be good to get into. Not my thing, but I think it will thrive once this has passed and we are on the road to recovery.
Won't China just buy all the farms??

I think globalism is only going to continue once the pandemic passes.

Depends on how long it goes for. I think this will fundamental change major aspects of our lives. The longer it lasts the more aspects of our lives will be affected.

He deserves it.
1. Has to work hard drinking his three martini lunch;
2. Must work diligently thinking of new novel ways to screw small time investors out of everything;
3. You think his job is easy? Try chasing your secretary round and round the desk. It's damn tiring;
4. Got to play endless games of miniature golf in the office finding newer and newer places to sink that put;
5. Somehow never reaching the end of excuses on how not to take telephone calls nor receive visitors.
It's a tough life and he deserves his raise.
I even left out the part about telling his secretary why he'd be late arriving to work every day, leaving for lunch early, arriving back from lunch late and going home early. That doesn't even explain the endless worries about expense reports and "sick" days.

Wow, I can be a CEO.
It's a dog's life.
You'd have to find new things to buy with all that money. Gold umbrella holders and the like. Pool parties with nubile young ladies in bikinis running around everywhere gets tiresome.
And then there's the vacations. Bahamas again? No, got to find someplace new. How about the South of France? Again no, damn foreigners don't even speak English. Switzerland? Maybe, there are places where lots of money is useful. Possibly, place this in the eeny meeny miney moe category.

Sounds like my life.

That would crush ambition and the desire to succeed. No one would try to make money, or build anything, if they knew that they were capped at $999M total wealth. It's just no longer worth trying, in a world like that.

Exactly. In fact I think you'd have mass suicides when the citizenry learned they'd never be billionaires.

But you get a dog park named after you.

A DOG PARK!

Dow Jones is at this time, 11 pm Eastern time, march 23, 2020, down nearly 600 points. I should be totally out of the stock market sometime either Friday, today or the next two or three days. Wish I had gotten totally out a lot sooner.
Dow is down about 500 points from when Trump took office. It's the economy stupid.

On the plus side the government just announced unlimited QE and new lending programs. The stimulus bill is on it's way.

In the negative side, record unemployment data expected this week and a massive reduction in GDP expected this quarter and next.

It's going to continue with these crazy swings until the virus is under control unfortunately. Somebody is making a boatload of money off of this.

It's going to continue with these crazy swings until the virus is under control unfortunately. Somebody is making a boatload of money off of this.

That generally means that conversely, somebody is also losing a boatload of money off of this.
