For sake of argument, let's assume we're using a Tier drafting strategy, and there are players
of all positions in our draft Tier. Which position should we lean toward first? Remember,
the draft comes BEFORE free agency. So that there aren't too many choices, I have decided
not to include categories such as "Swing Man", "Stretch 4", or other similar.

We just drafted 2 bigs. Collins is working out, so I don't draft PF.
I have a lot of hope for Baldwin, and we might re-sign Napier, so I don't draft PG.
Biebs and PagaG have 3/4/5th/whatever string Center, so C isn't a priority.
Layman isn't really working out. Pat is improved to meh.

So, for me it's...
1) SG
2) SF
other) C/PG/PF

I'm sure Dames all over this thread. Keep this team young. Fuck Dames prime!

As we had seen throughout the season, the fan base prefers a Small Forward.

SF for sure. Should be a few reasonable ones available within our pick too.

I would go for fit above best player available too. Very often the BPA does not turn out to be the BPA anyway and you end up with not only having someone who isn't that good but also someone that you don't actually need at all. Sixers took Okafor despite getting told they need a PF (Porzingis) or a shooter (Booker) more. They actually did not have the balls to select Porzingis. Hinkie wanted him but he would have been murdered for selecting him over Okafor.

Blazers are trading their pick

Serious Q: Who would you rather have-- Zach Collins or OG Anunoby?

I was all on that OG bandwagon last year.

As someone who was also on the OG bandwagon if we didn't trade up and was mad we traded up for Collins, I would take Collins right now. It's close though.

Let's trade up for Mikal. I'm sold on him.

How do we do that without losing CJ, Dame, Nurk, and Collins?

I'm sure you've already devised a plan.
Basically we'd have to have a team that dumping a contract was worth giving up a late lottery pick and then find a 2nd team that would want that pick and ours to move down a few spots. It may be possible but would cost Allen a crapload of money in both salary and taxes next year.

Turner/Layman for Batum along with 24/TPE for MKG/11, then Harkless/11 for Lee/9?

Or alternate version:

Turner/Harkless/Layman/24 for Batum/MKG/11 , then TPE/11 for Lee/9?

Yeah, something along those lines. Holy crap would that be expensive though. I'm guessing in a rebuild Charlotte probably won't give up 11 but you're on the right track.
