Game Thread Ducks at Cougars, 10/20/2018 - 4:30pm

Welcome to our community

This reminds me of my feelings on the pelican series, it sucks getting your butt kicked by a team that isnt that great. It really exposes a lot about you. It exposed a lot about the Blazers too.

I haven't been paying attention to the score. I just looked.

LOL. Damn.

The Ducks are just getting warmed up: I think they have a chance to dominate this game.
I guess it wasn't much of a chance. :) I thought because they were bigger and faster and have gained some much needed toughness, and that their coaching had had some time to improve, that they could really do some good stuff. Last week I thought they ran too much; this week maybe it's the opposite. WA state seems to have a better idea what they are doing on offense and for the second week in the row Oregon not very creative. Also some really wimpy tackling by Oregon secondary; some of so bad it's like they want to throw the game, although I don't believe that is happening.

Ducks being badly outcoached. Not just on the "Xs" and "Os" either. Having the team ready to play on Sat is also part of the job.

Interesting fact: WA st has 11 guys who have caught a pass in this game.

All those highly touted recruits must be wondering WTF they were thinking to be interested in this shitshow.

Oregon made it a game at least. Not sure how that receiver was able to take the ball away from the Duck defender after he was on his back, odd.

Damn. Just watched this.... and the weekend was going so wel so far....

The good news is it cleared my saturdays up! In fact the pac12 should maybe shut down for the year lol.

Lol. Well they are still 5-2 so ill give them another game or two of viewing, but their competition for time will continue to increase as the fall brings more yard work!

Herbert doesn’t excite me. I don’t get the hype with him. Overrated

Brutal game. By far the worse I've seen the Ducks play in quite a while. They looked like they all pulled an all-nighter. Second half was on track, but it was too late. They can finish strong though and get a nice bowl invite. Very disappointing game.

Tough games are the best thing that can happen to this team.

I'm not really concerned with making the natty playoffs. I just want this team to learn to play hard and finish. This isn't one of those deals where go for broke this season because next season is going to suck. This is all about building for the future.

The team is way ahead of where I thought they would be this season. The goal for the program is to become the Ohio State and Alabama of the Pac 12. That's going to be a long grind.

While a tough loss this team is learning. Coming out like they did in the 2nd half was amazing.

Totally disagree. Can't teach his pocket poise. Other Duck QB's have flamed out in the pros. Truly believe Herbert has a chance to be the best since Fouts once he moves on to the next level. It's all there. I think the Ducks would be wise to move more towards a pro style offense with him, and move away from the RPO to utilize his skillset better.

Herbert is going to be very good in the NFL.
This is not popular as an Oregon fan, but I dont think so. I think he’s incredibly over rated. Any time he gets pressured his throws are inaccurate, his deep balls are all over the place, he doesnt hit guys down field in stride very often. He’s got the NFL body, tall, strong, throws a good fast ball, but in the NFL he’s gonna have a lot of problems with Blitzes, I dont know if its coaching but I almost never see him audible out of bad plays, in fact sometimes its really obvious what the defense is doing and they run right into it.

The one thing Ill give him a ton of credit for is when he sets his feet and fires up to about 10-20 yards he can throw it on a rope, which could translate. He’s definitely a heck of a lot better than the back ups Oregon has, but when I heard people saying he was likely to go #1 overall I really scratch my head.

The great thing is he can still get better. I think he’s a really, really good college QB.

That’s what they said about Mariota

Titans are a shitty run team. I still think he could be very good in the right situation. He has put that team on his back and led them to victory more than a few times. He had an amazing playoff game last season. He would be perfect in NE or NO when those QBs retire.
