great Thursday night NFL game, Herbert vs Mariota into OT; Herbert sneaks in for winning TD

and there were 3 or 4 promos for tomorrow night's Pac-12 championship game. Ducks dominating the world

The Ducks have had almost two weeks to prepare. I'm hoping they can surprise us.

Two weeks to prepare for who? The USC offense is nothing like UW or Colorado.
They found out Monday during practice that they would be playing USC. So that is only
about 3-4 practices. Good thing USC is in the same situation, except for the travel part.

considering that the Duck defense has had tons of trouble against every offense they've faced, what they really needed to work on was fundamentals like tackling, gap integrity, and zone assignments. Those the areas where they have been failing. If they can improve in those facets of D, that will translate to better D against any offense

I'm not real optimistic because the Ducks lost too much talent, experience, and leadership off of last year's team. There's an old axiom about defense: "see a little, see everything; see a lot, see nothing". That meaning that every defensive position has initial assignments under each alignment. The responsibility is to stay with those assignments and not be distracted into indecision by action outside of your assignment. I think that's been the biggest failure of the Duck D...the players are getting way to distracted by decoys, feints, and mis-direction, leaving gaps that result in open running lanes and big open spaces in the passing game. And even when they do react correctly and are in position to make plays, they have been missing way too many tackles

if that's not enough, the front-7 has not been generating penetration or pocket pressure. Opposing QB's have been way too comfortable in the pocket

I don't believe that all can be corrected in a few extra practices. That's a list of flaws that need a full spring practice season and training camp to fix. Avalos runs a complex defense with multiple sets

People are stupid...

"This game on Friday should have been a forfeit by Washington. The Huskies are not ineligible, they’re unavailable. It baffles the mind why the Pac-12 continues to work against its own interests. The conference continues to make horrible decisions that could come back to bite it in the rear."

Except that if the game this Friday were a forfeit, then the game last Saturday would have been a forfeit as well...

Which would mean the Ducks would be in anyway.

My takeaway from the quote you posted:

Ducks playing pretty well. I think being young and being high level recruits, they hadn't learned how to get up for inferior opponents, but for Trojans they are up. Coverage seems to be pretty well except when they fall down. Slovis has a lot of completions into coverage; hopefully they can intercept him again. Just not sure about Shough.

I don't know who Anthony Brown is but he seems to have more poise under pressure than Shough.

They just don't trust Shough; three times ran on 3rd and 7 or 8.
They aren't helping him any by not letting him pass on first down though. I think Cristobal has put severe limits on his OC.

Shough is just not impressive. Can’t through it beyond the line and as soon as he is pressured he is pulling the ball down and running without watching downfield.

What a stupid throw by the USC quarterback lol throwing it away right to the duck defender

Fucked up year..fucked up season but I’ll take it! And it’s always a little sweeter when we beat USC

I see. He was the senior transfer from Boston college; I guess he looked about the same as Shough in practice so that thought it was better to play the sophomore. Hope they have somebody who will challenge Shough next year.

What I tell ya?!!! Blazers suck and the only guy to feel bad for is DAMIAN LILLARD. He doesn’t deserve this shit. But Ducks did their thing and blazers kept on losing
