Again, nobody is saying it can't be a conversation. Hoping for a good solution for all sides.

Unfortunately there's a lot of vitriol regarding this topic so you have to wade through some of it.

I believe this thread and YouTube video are where it was brought to my attention.

I believe all trans people have as much of a right to compete and play sports as anybody else.

But I can't play women's sports because I was born a man. That's fine. I want those assigned female at birth to have that space.

I think individual leagues and sports should be able to choose if that is better or worse for their sport.

I fully support any sport that wants to have co-ed divisions. That's awesome. I would even be happy if those kinds of sports became more popular than the ones which don't.

But my perspective is the individual sport and league should be able to make that choice without fear of repercussion.

It was brought to my attention two years ago. I don't spend a ton of time reading up on it.

But nobody who was assigned female at birth will most Canadian women's powerlifting records.

They'll be held by a trans woman and or literal bearded biological man.

Saying someone set back a sport is easy to say. Where is the proof that Canadian power lifting is being set back? I assume that can be backed up with numbers that participation is lower.

And finding tons of records broken since Ann Andres competed in 2023. I am pretty illiterate when it comes to power lifting so I could be missing something.

But again, it’s easy to say someone has set a sport back. When you make a claim like that, I expect proof. Especially coming from you, who usually backs up their claims with evidence and asks others too as well.

If you didn’t spend much time reading up on it how can you say she set the sport back?

isn’t a big part of power lifting competing in competitions? Has participation in competitions declined since 2023?

I've been fine with the way things have been.

See Canadian women's powerlifting. Nobody's getting hurt. But it's completely destroyed any semblance of competition in the sport.

They had a bearded biological man who had no procedures or treatments and simply signed up saying he was a female (He was an Olympic powerlifting coach) breaking records in women's power lifting. Those records are standing in the record books (Or were last time I checked).

If that's not proof I don't know what is.

*Edit* This would be like if Peyton Pritchard went and scored 150 points in the WNBA. And the record standing. In the women's record books.
