Well I finally looked at a background tutorial and did my best not to try to overdo anything.

Yes, border. Without a border a sig looks like its spilling out onto the page. With a border, however, it keeps your art contained. Dont know how to make one? Select the entire sig (ctrl+A) then create a new layer. Now, go to edit>stroke and adjust the settings px/color and make sure the box 'centered' is checked, then click ok. I use double borders so to make it you make a layer with a 1px black(or different) stroke and put it on top of a layer with a 3px white stroke.
