I want $15M+ per year. He's a free agent, so I highly doubt it. I'm not even sure if he's a max player anymore. I'm laughing because I also read that Terrence Jones wants 15+ million per year.
Not that he hasn't had things to bitch about in LA and especially in Houston...but Howard just seems like a cancer at this point. If Dwight was like 5 years younger I would be all about it. I hate his whiny attitude though.
I'd rather have Whiteside. May not be as much of a threat offensively. But do we really need that from our center? Especially when we have plumlee and Meyers (who seems to be a niche player).
Please god don't let us get Whiteside. He is pretty much Javalle McGee all over again. Whiteside is not a good defender and all he goes for are blocks so you can get him out of position or fake him pretty easily. Dont want a player like that on our team for the price tag he will have.Well yeah but that's even less realistic than trading for Howard. Why would whiteside choose Portland of all places?
That's not what we are looking for. We need the guy who will be moving needles in 3 seasons time.
We are not winning the ring next season. No chance. So if I were you I wouldn't be thinking along the lines.
Fuck Howard but trade for Paul George? PG is the type to sleep with his best friends fiance.
I assumed you were saying fuck him because of his off court antics.Hell YEah. Im thinking about team play here not off the court personal issues. Fuck Howard.
Does he have something against portland? Seems like a pretty good chance to win, and make a lot of money.Well yeah but that's even less realistic than trading for Howard. Why would whiteside choose Portland of all places?
Do you watch a lot of Miami games? Please god don't let us get Whiteside. He is pretty much Javalle McGee all over again. In what way? The NBA has max contracts, so he'd make the same here as anywhere else. Compounding the problem: The Blazers are sub .500, a tiny market with dreary winters, very few marketing opportunties and you'll play half your games when half the country is already asleep.Does he have something against portland? Ok.... lol.In what way? The Blazers are sub .500, a tiny market with dreary winters, very few marketing opportunties and you'll play half your games when half the country is already asleep.
But other than that ...
In what
I hope you don't take too much offense to this. But I'm not going to argue about the pessimistic little details that you threw out there. If you really think about it, im sure you can find the holes in your argument. Even the edited one with the somewhat of a disclaimer at the beginning. In what way? So now it's my job to refute my own argument? Funny.I hope you don't take too much offense to this. But I'm not going to argue about the pessimistic little details that you threw out there. Actually, I'm wrong on one part. They're both not very good freethrow shooters. Javale is surprisingly better in that area.Do you watch a lot of Miami games?
There are a few similarities between Whiteside and Javale... I would say that those similarities are all physical though.
Only the arguments that have no substance. So now it's my job to refute my own argument? Funny.
Is the winter weather here wet, dark and unpleasant? CheckOnly the arguments that have no substance.

Only a side note. I didn't tell you to refute anything. I said that if you thought about it, you could find the holes. So now it's my job to refute my own argument? Funny.
I already told you, I'm not arguing about these petty little things. If you can't figure out why your "argument" is seriously flawed... wow.Is the winter weather here wet, dark and unpleasant? Check
Are the marketing opportunities poor here? Check
Do the Blazers start play at 10:00 EST? Check
Are there maximum contracts in the NBA? Check.
Go ahead, I'm waiting.
What in the hell are you talking about?Nik,
Your argument is valid for half the NBA teams too though. Milwaukie? What makes Milwaukie any better than Portland? Indiana, Detroit.. man there are a ton of teams that have shitty winters and arent a major market.
Im sure no matter what city you can find pros and cons, but I think the number one thing to help turn the cons into pros, is start being optimistic. If players see we think we suck, why come here?
If players see the fans and city as optimistic, then maybe they put the small market and weather aside and focus on what truly matters... winning... being positive, etc...
Just saying, you can paint a doomsday parade for most cities if you try....I don't care to try....
You've got nothing. Got it.Only a side note. I didn't tell you to refute anything. I said that if you thought about it.

I have nothing for your halfway thought out argument. No.You've got nothing. Got it.
So go ahead enlighten me. Why are the Blazers suddenly a destination for marquee free agents after 45 years?I have nothing for your halfway thought out argument. No.
