Forget the Failton or Crawfull appreciation thread; cause they won't be here next season. I want to give an appreciation to E. Will!

He will still be a Blazer next season; well unless we trade him or something. This kid has mojo. He is a diamond in the rough, just like Batum. I think he has that chip on his shoulder to constantly improve his game and the ability to be really good in the NBA.

I'm really excited about this kid. I think he has a great future in the NBA!

I'd really like to see what he could do with starters minutes on a consistent basis. If nothing else for a 5 game stretch

I would love to see him get more minutes. The energy he brings is contagious and of course we all love the spectacular dunks.

Love his energy. Reminds me of how Bayless was just fearless.

It would have been awesome to see our vets put up some of their own $$$ to get him in the dunk contest. Maybe pool together a nice chunk of $$$ and tell Stern they will add it to the prize money if he lets E.Will in.

I guess EW beat Shumpert in the McD's high school dunk contest.

He had some great cuts to the basket last night. Another thing was how high he gets up to rebound the basketball.

An E Will tweet:

Elliot Williams @ewill901 Man I tried to sleep in this morning but I'm programmed to wake up for practice at 730.... I don't like this at all.

Are the Blazers done practicing this week?

He reminds me of Bayless ... if Bayless were two inches taller and didn't have alligator arms.

I was talking about their tenacity and killer instinct smart ass! (That smart-ass was in a scottish accent)

Yep. Don't think they practice again til we land in Denver next Tuesday.

What color do I type for a Scottish accent?

That fool dunked on GW in preseason!!!!! As Whels would say, "THAT WAS NAAAAAAAASTY!"

What's a good comparison for Williams? He's skinny and short for a SG and, although he played spot minutes at PG for Duke and Memphis, he has shown NO PG skills yet, on a team desperate for them.

There are some short SGs (Eric Gordon, for example) but they tend to be stocky. I guess Dwyane Wade was about the same size as Williams coming in, but that's reaching a bit...

He really is a gunner, though.

Weak. They must not want to win that bad. They better at least be pouring through the tapes.

That's all huh? There's not much of a career in that line of work.

Love his highlights, but he's yet to show he can produce in anything other than garbage time.

PER = 20.3 = FUTURE ALL-STAR!!!

Why the fuck isn't Nate starting him????

Seriously, does anyone know his true height? He's not listed in the draftexpress measurement database.

Right now, he is strictly a scorer on offense. He certainly has the potential to be a Vinnie Johnson instant offense off the bench guy. Don't know if PG is in his future. His AST% (small sample size) is a pathetic 3.7. Craig Smith has shown more PG skills than Elliot Williams at this point. But, then who's EW supposed to pass to, Luke Babbitt?

BNM

When standing next to each other he is taller then Nolan and about the same height as Wes.

I worried about long-term injury/health problems from hitting his head on the backboard.

What I don't get is why he sucks at free throws . . . dude's putting up 37.5% from the stripe!!! That's beyond awful for a guard. I've never seen him hit two straight FT's!!!

a shaquesque 6/16 from the line this season...WHAT A LOSER

Williams is a tweener like Bayless. It's going to be tough from him to get consistent productive minutes.

babbitt measured 6'8.75" in shoes and armon measured 6'3.25", looks like ewill is around 6'5.5" or so, hardly a "tweener" at sg

Not enough attempts during a game? Sometimes you gotta get past the mental thing. I suspect with more time and more attempts during the game, he's gonna be a mid to high 70% FT shooter. Maybe in a few years down the road, it goes in the 80's
