"Climate Apartheid": Pakistan, Contributing Less Than 1% of Global Emissions, Ravaged by Floods

Capitalism Created the Climate Catastrophe; Socialism Can Avert Disaster

https://popularresistance.org/capit...ate-catastrophe-socialism-can-avert-disaster/

With less than 5% of the world’s population, the United States consumes a third of the world’s paper, a quarter of the world’s oil, nearly a quarter of the world’s coal, and a quarter of its aluminum. The Sierra Club says that US per capita consumption ‘of energy, metals, minerals, forest products, fish, grains, meat and even fresh water dwarfs that of people living in the developing world’.

America consumes a quarter of all of our planets oil. 5% of this planets population uses 25% of it's oil. That is insane.

We need it for all of our prisoners!

Seriously though, the argument that the US can't apply enough pressure for other countries to stop using oil is insane.

We ENABLE the world to use oil. The oil industry would go to hell without us.

Unless there is a breakthrough in hydrogen fuel production, this will continue to be a niche solution as it is super expensive to produce. I would guess that solid state batteries will become a viable mass market solution before hydrogen fuel does, but it is nice that they are giving it a try.

All I know is it is hellishly hot and tomorrow expected to be worse. Lucia is miserable.

How many people can Earth handle?

Super interesting article. This in particular really struck home with me.

Enter Thomas Malthus, an English cleric with a penchant for pessimism. In his famous work, An Essay on the Principle of Population, published in 1798, he began with two important observations – that all people need to eat, and they like to have sex. When taken to their logical conclusion, he explained, these simple facts would eventually lead humanity's demands to outstrip the planet's supplies.

This Thomas Malthus guy really understands me.

Was a legit question, wasn't trying to call you out. I don't know much about him other than his anti-gun advocating.
I appreciate the anti-gun advocation, he's just been trying to gain notoriety for it. Correct me if I'm wrong.
