Ed Davis - They respect you, even when you leave

No one should clap or boo. We should simply give him silence. Turning our backs and being silent would be even better.

I should have added a poll for "Mostly cheers, mostly boo's, mostly silence, or mixed bag"

You Reap what you Sow Turncoat!

BOO!!!

silence or holding up a newspaper.

Hate is a horrible emotion, but it pales in comparison to apathy.

btw, that's an odd phrase, if you say it over and over.

i think that we are the hardest of hard core fans, more emotionally tied than most Blazers fans. I think most fans will applaud him and Cheer. This whole forum wouldn't fill the seats. :)
Honestly, I hope we take the high road. It will validify what our players are saying about us fans and the city, not to mention if we boo, it will leave a bad taste in the mouth of any potential hopeful we are targeting as a free agent.

Minny's PR/Media is top shelf.

They easily have the best commercials and promos.

Crap, I hope not. And I think that any fan that appreciates the actual game of basketball appreciates what Big Ed brings to our particular team. Our feelings toward him have absolutely nothing to do with Aldridge. LA is not even in that conversation. We we respect Davis for what he's shown so far, small sample size be damned. Us older guys see a Buck, a Kermit or a Kenny. "Lunch bucket" guys that do the physical work that the Aldridges of the world refuse to do. Guys who don't say much but have a positive influence. Guys who really don't care if they get they get all the PR bullcrap. Guys who just appreciate the opportunity. It seems to me that the more we respect Big Ed, the more Aldridge looks like a cardboard stand in for Davis.
Fuck-in-A right! Preach!!

Booing a franchise player that left us out to dry will not scare away any current or future players at all, any human being that has any interest in sports can understand that. I hope LMA gets booed every time he touches the ball, and I really think it will eat at him in his head and he'll have a terrible shooting night. Cuz he's a fragile bitch who needs to be coddled and told he's the best player not Damian. Lol.

I find myself with two questions on my mind: 1) Was this team ever going to win a championship with LaMarcus as its centerpiece? and 2) If he had resigned here this summer would the Blazers' brass ever have had the balls to trade him and get value for him before the wheels had completely fallen off in 4 years time? I'm fairly certain the answer is no to both of those queries, so personally I'm pretty happy; happy for me that team gets a fresh start and gets off the "pretty good but nothing great" treadmill and happy for him that he can go someplace else and be second fiddle and maybe have a legit chance to chase a title - the guy did get drafted into one of the most dysfunctional and demoralizing eras of Blazers basketball and he made the team palatable to watch for several years in the wake of a lot of broken dreams. So all I will say is, "Sláinte!"

Ed Davis is one of my favorite new additions..I love guys who say hopefully this is my last stop....just warms my heart..this guy is mature and solid...impressive young man

Me too! I signed on and clicked the thread to say he's my new favorite player... unfortunately it turned out to be about a former player who fully earned his paycheck and decided to leave. I won't cheer for him because he could've been the greatest player in franchise history and he decided to go a different way. I won't boo him because he earned every penny he made here. He didn't connect with the fans or the franchise and he's just a guy with some nice stats and that's it. He is just part of the past and I don't care about him or his career any more than he cares about mine. I've seen Ed dive on the floor for loose balls more times since he's been here than I did in #12's last 9 years. Ed is exactly the kind of player that Rip City loves and will be adored here.

I would just retire Zach Randolph's number, but have it 12 for some odd reason
