The fact that you need to single out that anyone on here is white as a factor in your discussion, is in and of itself, highly questionable. There are people on here who you agree with and those that you disagree with. Each one of those people have their own personalities and their own beliefs. If you're going to lump those people together because of the color of their skin.... well...... I believe there's a word for that :devilwink:
 
Maybe genetics will advance to the point that someday people will get to choose their skin color. Any color of the rainbow, striped, polka dot, whatever. Just tweak a couple of genes and you're good to go. Of course, you also get to pick your lethal weapon of choice at that point too. What the hell would we argue about?

most of the people on that list have met each other and hung out together...was called a meet and greet...and we were lumped together with the title "flock of zeros"

I even remember the first time, in another forum. A guy was curious about the origin of a word and I happened to know the word came from a dialect spoken in India. Their name for Chinese. So I explained it to the fellow. I believe it was your first post ever directed and me and the first time you called me racist. Sure not the last though.

Well I see you baited a young fellow into trading barb with you. He's gone now I guess. Did you get some real jollies out of that?

I prefer to call people by their names, and have trouble thinking in terms of large groups being "the same as each other" regardless of whether they are the same race, same party, same religion, or same height.

But if someone insists on making it about a group, I'll use my own terms to describe that group and let the other person use their terms.

Someone inaccurately calling me "white", then demanding I inaccurately call them African-American, does not impress me as either educated or empathic.

I agreed that it was more work than worth at the time, but it seems to be a growing issue. I thiNk this is an easy solution.
It doesnt punish all with a broad arm of the law.
It allows the guilty to roam the rest of the site and post in other threads(until they break the law in those too), and it allows the root of the discussion to be continued by those who would like to continue the discussion.

Now make it happen. My work here is done. :)

I will just say this - I have never told someone on here that their opinion didn't matter, let alone that it didn't matter because of the color of their skin...

Everyone should be entitled to an opinion... that doesn't mean that they're right, but they're entitled to sharing a thought. People should be willing to change their opinion, but when someone outright tells you that your opinion is not welcome, nor should you have an opinion in the first place, simply because of something you were born with.... well.... I just think that's a little fucked up. Maybe that's just me. Personally I see a differing opinion as a challenge to debate. I would hope that if I could produce evidence to the contrary, someone would be willing to alter their views. Most people just get pissed off and run away though. Or they call you names. Or they write you off because you're a white guy. :dunno:

I know exactly what i did. Finding fried chicken irresistible is a known stereotype for black people. My whole point was that chuckling at stereotypes is a good way to curb actual racism. It was a joke. Was dave chappelle being racist when he played a blind black white supremacist? If not, why? Because he's black so he's allowed to joke? Or because it was a joke?

What if a black guy powders his face, puts on a goofy comb over, and talks like a square pretending to be white? Cause chappelle did that too and it was fuckung hilarious. But i know you'd be up in arms if a white dude painted their face black and dug into a watermelon.

Why the double standard is my question? Just fucking laugh at the shit and it will have no power over you.

I think @dviss1 was a bit offended by Dave wearing white makeup if I remember correctly. Didn't bother me one bit.
