Where have I defended him? I wasn't even talking about his post.

I asked at the very beginning for someone to explain to me how "edumacate" was racist.

You could have said, "the word in itself is not racist. The person saying it to me was being racist." And I would have accepted that and moved on. It had nothing to do with his post specifically. I wanted to know if the word, by itself, was considered racist. That's it. That's all. Nothing else. No agenda.

To be fair, I didn't think NB3 was taking any sides or meant any harm. I took his inquiries from a place of trying to gain understanding, and then his words got twisted up and lumped with those who were arguing back-and-forth, and then thrown into the fire to blow up. I took it all as him coming from a place of understanding and fairness.

In the Laker OT forum.

Nope. There isn't a rule that says I can't make a new thread. I can name it something else and I can come up with a new post and it's now an original idea.

But I guess if you guys want to start censoring that's your prerogative.

Ha!
It takes awhile to learn.

Yeah. Maybe you old timers will take more time to learn, to grow comfortable in the future to accept and acknowledge when you're wrong. It's not a sign of weakness. Takes a bigger person to admit when they're wrong. I'm comfortable owning my mistakes rather than puffing my chest out and walking around like my shit doesn't stink.

What’s all this Tomcuckery??

Damn! You are a regular hero! A pace setter!
If I get to place where I am wrong, I will think about your counsel.

Welp. Seems like we’re back at square one.

I think we need to distinguish between two categories of racist assholes:

1) people who act like assholes because they are racist
2) people who act racist because they are assholes

I'd say <slypokerdog> is category 1 and obviously <slypokerdog> is category 2.

Some of us are no longer talking about it.

Some of us never thought anyone, including yourself, got past square one.

It's clear some folks also like to bait and stir the pot (which is essentially what you're last post seems to be attempting).

Some of us could really give two shits about how warped/closed/ignorant some of y'alls minds are. It's shocking, yes. But I, for one, don't really care. I don't live with idiots, nor do I deal with them on a daily basis (besides when I choose to visit S2).

And some us of are just assholes being assholes because we're assholes.

Another sick burn bro!!

Sounds like you care a lot btw.

I don't think you understand what a burn is, bro.... I recommend you check out urbandictionary.com.

There's no "burns" in there. Some people, myself included, don't really give two shits about you being ignorant. It really isn't my problem.

Perhaps you have a bit too much practice. It sort of skews the curve.

No. But I've learned a lot from the things people say on S2. I grew up in a very insulated bubble (can't get much more upper-middle-class whiteness than growing up in West Linn-Wilsonville), but even then, I'm shocked at the amount of ignorance and intolerance I see on S2. It's definitely eye-opening. I mean, I've learned a lot from the things you've said. As Sly said earlier, you do well in skirted the "no personal insults rule". But you sure do insult a lot of folks.

As my grandfather taught me, those individuals that spend so much trying to make others feel bad about themselves either feel bad about themselves, or just empty. So I only have sorrow for those kind of folk.

Shit dude... humans are horrible to each other. How have you not seen that? Spend some time on the road, or in video games, or at a school. Especially when they're anonymous. That's when the true nature of people comes out.

People are assholes. They find weakness and they exploit it. They take advantage of the weak. They hurt because they can. Were you not picked on as a kid? People like to think that we have evolved, but we haven't. If something horrible happened tomorrow, and the power went off and the food stopped, it wouldn't take long for people to start killing each other over food, water, etc.

I want to take your post behind the house and stab it 17 times in its stupid post face.
I could escalate the shit out of this idea to prove my point.

I'm definitely in category 2 if people think I'm racist.

I get it. People ARE assholes. And yeah, who wasn't picked on? It helped being one of the biggest kids in my class, though, and then having a brother who was the biggest kid in his class. I live and work in a close-knit community where people actually do all sorts of things out of the blue and unexpectedly for one another, have more patience and tolerance for others..... and I live in a community I consider to be a bit redneck.

And then I come here. I literally pray that for most of these S2 folks it's all a coward's persona, hiding in anonymity (I think most of the folks are cowards, but they do put up a "tough guy" attitude here cuz that's pretty easy to do behind the keyboard).

The word is racist when used in the context he used it in. That's exactly what I said that you just glossed over.

To be fair, how do you expect people to actually read or glean anything of value through all the spew in here?

I rode the bus with High school kids from Kindergarten on. Being poor and fat, Dviss and his ashtray story ain't anything I haven't had done to me. Hair caught on fire, clothes burned. Stuff poured on me.
Beaten, pantsed. Try being the big 8 year old kid on a bus full of teenagers.

The fucked up thing was as I got older and bigger and fought back I'd get dragged to the principal and made to apologize for defending myself.

Thought that was bullshit then and seeing how people act like a bullshit apology is just something you have to do I think I know where people get that. They're taught that lying is ok as long as it is an apology.
