That’s true. The GOP and right wing media have, for a long time, conditioned their base to be ripen for the picking by a con man like Trump. Adding Trump was the last piece to give this monster life. But I don’t think the GOP establishment quite anticipated of what a monster they created. Sure, Trump gave them judges, but he’s also effectively ended their charade for the last three decades of being the party of “family values” and “fiscal responsibility.” The GOP no longer stands for anything other than what Donald Trump wants. If they try to break free from him (which I expect they will), he’ll unleash his confederacy of dunces on them. I expect there’s going to be an epic struggle within the GOP to wrest control away from Trump.

I don't know. The base still thinks they are the party of family values and fiscal responsibility. They've just redefined those words to mean the opposite of what they used to mean, and they are totally fine with that, because they were just slogans anyway.

Lots and lots of Trumpists got elected/re-elected this month, even though Trump himself didn't. Nationally, there might be some concern that Trump has taken the party off the deep end, but out in 'real america', they'll just call those people RINOs and other names. In the redder states, I imagine they'll want to erect statues of Trump in the town squares.

Wisconsin officials: Trump observers obstructing recount

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Election officials in Wisconsin’s largest county accused observers for President Donald Trump on Saturday of seeking to obstruct a recount of the presidential results, in some instances by objecting to every ballot tabulators pulled to count.

Trump requested the recount in Milwaukee and Dane counties, both heavily liberal, in hopes of undoing Democrat Joe Biden’s victory by about 20,600 votes. With no precedent for a recount reversing such a large margin, Trump’s strategy is widely seen as aimed at an eventual court challenge, part of a push in key states to undo his election loss.

A steady stream of Republican complaints in Milwaukee was putting the recount far behind schedule, county clerk George Christenson said. He said many Trump observers were breaking rules by constantly interrupting vote counters with questions and comments.

“That’s unacceptable,” he said. He said some of the Trump observers “clearly don’t know what they are doing.”

Tim Posnanski, a county election commissioner, told his fellow commissioners there appeared to be two Trump representatives at some tables where tabulators were counting ballots, violating rules that call for one observer from each campaign per table. Posnanski said some Trump representatives seemed to be posing as independents.

At one recount table, a Trump observer objected to every ballot that tabulators pulled from a bag simply because they were folded, election officials told the panel.

Posnanski called it “prima facie evidence of bad faith by the Trump campaign.” He added later: “I want to know what is going on and why there continues to be obstruction.”

Joe Voiland, a lawyer speaking to commission members on behalf of the Trump campaign, denied his side was acting in bad faith.

“I want to get to the point of dialing everything down … and not yelling at each other,” Voiland said.

At least one Trump observer was escorted out of the building by sheriff’s deputies Saturday after pushing an election official who had lifted her coat from an observer chair. Another Trump observer was removed Friday for not wearing a face mask properly as required.

Trump paid $3 million, as required by state law, for the partial recount that began Friday and must conclude by Dec. 1.

His team is seeking to disqualify ballots where election clerks filled in missing address information on the certification envelope where the ballot is inserted, even though the practice has long been accepted in Wisconsin.

Credible Individual?

Unlikely. This part in particular seems rather fishy:

"I personally observed USB cards being uploaded to voting machines by the voting machine warehouse supervisor on multiple occasions. This person is not being observed, he's not a part of the process that I can see, and he is walking in with baggies of USBs".

So he personally observed it, but it wasn't being observed, and he can't see it?

Anything is possible, but given how many similar claims by the Trump team have already been debunked and/or laughed out of court, it's unlikely that this will turn out any different.

At least they upgraded from the dildo store to an actual hotel this time.

BTW I have 47 slightly used cards for sale.

I have 51. Just missing the 6 of hearts. I've put the deck on craigslist for $400.

Anyone who denies that massive voter fraud took place in the 2020 election isn’t playing with a full deck (an unintentional nod to @barfo’s last post). The fraud is evident for anyone with half a brain to see. There is absolutely no fucking way on God’s green earth that 74 million people voted for Donald Trump. No fucking way. America has been dumbed down significantly, but even America doesn’t have 74 million stupid people. 40-50 million, sure. But 74 million???? So hopefully Donny’s doggedness will prove useful in uncovering that utter impossibility..........he should be careful what he wishes for.....

2020 ELECTIONS

Georgia election official condemns Trump after threat to worker

90

Gabriel Sterling, a top official in the Georgia secretary of state’s office, condemned President Donald Trump and the state’s two Republican senators, David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler, in a fiery press conference Tuesday after a local election worker received death threats.

Sterling, who works for Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, opened the press conference by saying an election contractor in Gwinnett County had received death threats after conspiracy theorists spread videos of the worker on social media.
Sterling did not name the worker, who he called a “twenty-something tech” working for Dominion Voting Systems, a voting machine vendor that has become the subject of unfounded right-wing conspiracy theories regarding the election results. Sterling said the worker has “death threats and a noose put out, saying he should be hung for treason” and that his family has been harassed. Social media posts falsely accuse the worker by name of manipulating data. (POLITICO is also not further identifying him for his safety.)

“Mr. President, you have not condemned these actions or this language,” he said. “Senators, you have not condemned this language or these actions. This has to stop. We need you to step up. And if you’re going to take a position of leadership, show some.”
“Mr. President, it looks like you likely lost the state of Georgia,” Sterling said later in the press conference. “Stop inspiring people to commit potential acts of violence. Someone is going to get hurt, someone is going to get shot, someone is going to get killed. And it’s not right.”

Sterling noted that both he and Raffensperger, along with Raffensperger’s wife, have also received threats. Sterling also brought up Joe DiGenova, an attorney for the president, calling for Chris Krebs to be shot. Krebs was fired by Trump from leading the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency after saying the election was secure, and DiGenova later tried to portray his comment as a hyperbole.

“It has to stop,” Sterling said. “This is elections. This is the backbone of democracy. And all of you who have not said a damn word are complicit in this. It is too much. … It is not right. They have lost the moral high ground to claim that it is.”

Dominion, which supplies voting systems for Georgia, has been at the center of conspiracy theories circulated by the president and his allies. The president tweeted falsely that Dominion has deleted millions of votes, among other conspiracy theories he has spread about the election.

Just add an uno plus 4 wild card

The dream shall never die. Statistically, surely one of these allegations of fraud must be true, right?

Well, they would've had plenty of help. I'll leave it at that.

Nonetheless, I've moved on. Biden is now my POTUS.

Trump and his allies had a lot of time to bring things like this to court. They failed over and over again because in the court of law you need actually evidence to support your claims. This is just more of the same.

Report in Antrim County election lawsuit shows lack of evidence in fraud

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – Attorney General Dana Nessel and Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, in an Antrim County court hearing today, did not object to the public release of a report on Dominion software.

The report comes from the partisan organization Allied Security Operations Group (ASOG).

They did not object in order to demonstrate the “report” is actually another in a long stream of misguided, vague and dubious assertions designed to erode public confidence in the November presidential election, the secretary of state’s office said.

-----
“There continues to be no evidence of widespread fraud, as affirmed by state and federal agencies including Attorney General William Barr, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. If the Trump campaign had any actual evidence of wrongdoing – or genuine suspicion thereof – they could have requested a hand recount of every ballot in the state. They did not, instead choosing to allow shadowy organizations claiming expertise to throw around baseless claims of fraud in an effort to mislead American voters and undermine the integrity of the election. Their actions are a corruption of the courts and the rule of law, as the release of today’s report clearly demonstrates.”
-----

ASOG authored the “preliminary forensic audit,” which was made public by the judge today. The group, however, has no apparent expertise in election administration and technology. Their work is limited to the previous release and amplification of other false information and fake documents. As expected, the plaintiff’s most recent report on Antrim County is similarly critically flawed, filled with dramatic conclusions without any evidence to support them.
----
In response to a previously unsigned version of the ASOG report, Michigan Bureau of Elections Director Jonathan Brater made a preliminary declaration under oath for the court. In his statement, Brater said it was apparent to him “… that the report makes a series of unsupported conclusions, ascribes motives of fraud and obfuscation to processes that are easily explained as routine election procedures or error corrections, and suggests without explanation that elements of election software not used in Michigan are somehow responsible for tabulation or reporting.”
----
The qualifications of those who authored the report are suspect, with no evidence or credentials provided to back up their “expertise.” Authors in the report also make unverified and unsupported claims that “fraud,” “intentional errors” and “bad faith” decisions made by election officials led them to their conclusions in the report. Moreover, many of their assertions are unsupported by evidence, with some even constituting hearsay and clearly show that the authors lack first-hand knowledge of events.
----
Michigan Rule of Evidence 702 states that if the court determines that scientific, technical, or other specialized knowledge will assist the trier of fact to understand the evidence or to determine a fact in issue, a witness qualified as an expert by knowledge, skill, experience, training, or education may testify thereto in the form of an opinion or otherwise if (1) the testimony is based on sufficient facts or data, (2) the testimony is the product of reliable principles and methods, and (3) the witness has applied the principles and methods reliably to the facts of the case. That has not happened in this case yet.
