<{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>The only thing that scares me about the Nets rebuilding process, and it was driven home on draft night, is Rod and Kiki being the ones making the decisions on the lottery picks the next 2 seasons</div>
who should they have taken on draft night?

Bayless over Lopez and that really is the one that frightens me the most about future drafts. It gave me flash backs to Kiki's picks in 2002.
Several players over Anderson (who I like) but I'll highlight Koufos and Batum. Especially because it was well known that Batum was desired by the Spurs, he could have been used by Rod as trade bait.
CDR was a damn fine pick in the second.

I'm interested in breaking down the Lopez vs. Bayless thing.
What type of player do you see Bayless becoming? We've got a logjam at the guard spots currently with Harris and Carter, and if we're going to rebuild here, we should be getting our rookies some minutes. If they aren't moved before the trading deadline, then Bayless' whole rookie season would basically be a waste.
So one of the two has to go. What realistic situation trading one of those two players (or both) puts them in the best possible spot for landing a premier free agent in 2010?
</div>
No we have a log jam at the 4 and 5. If Bayless were the pick he would get more minutes than Lopez is going to see. Antoine Wright was getting 25 minutes, Bayless would be seeing at least that because he would be able to play the 1 and 2. Why do you think Bayless' rookie season here would've been a waste? That makes no sense. He shouldn't of came in here expecting to start, and I don't think any logical fan would expect that either with or without Carter and Harris on the team.
