It has never killed anyone to address or refer to someone else in the way they wish.

However, Senate Republicans plan to block the bill so bigots can breathe free. Me, not so much.

Today Congress passed the Equality Act by a vote of 224-206 with "3" (yes count them) 3 Republicans voting yes....no longer can businesses and institutions discriminate against anyone in the LGBTQ community....I salute the passing of this bill and highlight that 206 of 209 Republicans in Congress voted NO on this bill....what a shame on their party.
It's actually the House and not Congress. Congress includes the Senate although, strangely enough, when we say 'Congressman' we are only referring to a Representative from the House. That's a quirk and doesn't negate that Congress includes the Senate.

Whenever possible I like to ask the person who has a last name that has a questionable pronunciation how they pronounce their last name. My primary care provider is Dr. Kansagara, an Indian name. You'd be surprised how many other doctors and even some of his nurses who mispronounce his name.
So, back to your statement "It has never killed anyone to address or refer to someone else in the way they wish." I wholeheartedly agree.

  • The Equality Act would extend protections to cover federally funded programs, employment, housing, loan applications, education and public accommodations.

President Biden named passing the bill as one of his key priorities during his presidential campaign. He issued a statement supporting the bill when it was introduced by House Democrats last week.

"Every person should be treated with dignity and respect, and this bill represents a critical step toward ensuring that America lives up to our foundational values of equality and freedom for all," Mr. Biden said.

The bill is likely to face opposition from most Republicans in the House, who argue that it would infringe upon religious liberties. Opponents say the bill would harm businesses or organizations that wish to refuse service to LGBTQ Americans on religious grounds<<<< That is so fuckin LAME! The republican party is no longer conservative, it's BIASED!

It's been biased since at least Joe McCarthy. I think saying it "is so fuckin LAME" is a considerable understatement. I pride myself in the treasure trove of dirty words that I know but none adequately describes how I feel about their mother fucking, dick head, galactically stupid attitude on the subject. These LGBTQ Americans are human beings with feelings the same as you and me or anyone else and who didn't choose to be the way they are. They're just being their God Damned selves for Christ sake. My wife and I have looked at this from every angle and we still cannot see how their equal treatment affects us in any way. My wife and I still love each other regardless of how many ways we treat these poor folks. The people opposing this bill are assholes, pure and simple and they make me sick to my stomach.
Was I too harsh? No, I was too kind to these asshats.

Edit:
I respond according to the harm they do to the harmless. That's why I get so pissed off.
All of us who see what's going on should respond. We are all equal brothers and sisters here.
