Thanks. I think I have to be careful with how long the shows are. Episode 2 has been watched way more times than Episode 1. Episode 2 was much shorter.

I think I like the longer one better myself, but maybe that's just me. All three have been very good though! I can't wait for the next one!

Eric, I know you have some pipes on you, you should write and sing some intro, get some friends to play the music.

Eric, I assume you have an agent.... get this on NBA.com or ESPN! I figure it will make a Truehoop appearance simply because Abbott is such a Blazer fan.

I've talked to NBA.com about it. We'll see what happens. If you know anyone at ESPN, please pass it on.

Here is the avatar you wanted Eric:

Thanks DaRizzle. You forgot about Outlaw though! If you can add him, that'd be sweet.

With all due respect to Batum, if I could have Outlaw in place of him, it would be perfect. Thanks.

anyway they can be longer than 5 mins?
Maybe talk about players who need a relocation, amazing performances, your top 5 power rankings(per week), top 5 mvp (week)

Good ideas MAS. Thanks. I will incorporate them. You really think I should talk for longer than 5 minutes? Do others have a say on that? I could certainly go longer if people are going to listen. Maybe I could do a big show every other week or something like that. One thing that sucks is that sometime the sound doesn't sync with the video and then I have to do it all over again. But I guess that means I get a good rehearsal.

So what do you all think? More or less than 5 minutes?

damn i like that other one with batum. can i use it on another site?

ok eric, I've got one that combines all your interests.

There has been a broadway show about baseball (Damn Yankees), and even a broadway show about roller derby (Starlight Express), but as far as I know there has never been a broadway show about basketball. In fact, the only basketball reference I can think of in a musical is the character Ritchie in "A Chorus Line" ("Gimme the Ball, Gimme the ball, Gimme the Ball, Yeah!").

If you were asked to write a basketball-themed broadway musical, what would it be about? [feel free to break it down by each Act!]

It comes down to how much work and effort you want to put into it. As entertaining as you are, if you just talk at length for ten minutes it may be a bit much for some viewers. BUT you could split the show up into different "sections" of maybe three minutes each. In other words, give it structure. Obviously, one of the "sections" would be answering viewer mail. I don't know what your other sections would be. maybe a section with a weird stat of the day? A player of the day? Or split up ths show by talking about each conference equally?

also, what would obviously would make the show unique is that you're YOU. People can watch any of a thousand webcasts or sportsshows about basketball. But basketball mixed with entertainment gossip? Red Smith used to talk about gardening on his NPR radio sports show, and everyone ate it up. Milk who you are, and what you've got, even if it is something as simple as who you ran into at a restaurant or something.

Finally, think about designing a background. You could get a big piece of poster board and decorate it and use it as your set. One thought that comes to mind is using pictures of all-time movie stars like Cary Grant, cutting them out, and pasting a basketball in his hand--kind of like a montage that meshes basketball with the entertainment angle.

whatever you decide to do, I'm sure it will be entertaining. I have a lot of respect for people who willingly go in front of a crowd like that all alone. The thought terrifies me. Even telling people on this board my name terrifies me. Good luck!

keep it short King and how is it that you don't look any older than you did in middle school ?

I'd keep it on the shorter end. You know all of us will watch it but the casual fan who doesn't know you and doesn't have conversations with you like us might not care enough to watch more then 5 minutes. just my opinion though

Several years ago, both Disney and Savion Glover had musicals in the works about basketball. I actually went to an audition where I had to show off my basketball skills. But the show never happened. As for Starlight Express, it's actually about trains, I believe. As for references in musicals, PROMISES PROMISES has a song called "She Likes Basketball."

If I was asked to write a basketball-themed musical, I have no idea what it would be about. Hmmmm...

OK. Me babbling (with much-lagged Web cam action) about Greg Oden.

Eric, Ed,
These are fun to watch. Thanks for posting them.

Nice job, Ed O. I just posted a comment on the video's page. Great to see you. I hope more people do this.

Go Blazers!
