Hell no; his rebounding stats are worse than JJ Hickson because he doesn't box out nor help teammates. Houston is ranked 30th of 30 teams; yes dead last in the NBA for defensive rebounding rate. He's only going to get worse.
Aging stars are the most difficult players to coach or fit in to a locker room. Why would we want to bring in any main piece from that Houston disaster? The key to our team was young hungry unselfish players trying to prove themselves in the league. Dwight is the opposite of all of those.
When has any Olshey move been leaked to the media? If anything this shows me we have no interest in Dwight.
90% of the time when Howard is open he doesn't get the ball...The Rockets struggle when their analytics take over and they tell career sub 30% three point shooters to jack it up.
He doesn't fit this system.
I'd bet this is pure speculation based on the big cap space this team has.
He doesn't fit this system.
At.
All.

Good post. People thought Harden should win MVP last year because he got them to win without Dwight. This year, Dwighy plays and Houston sucks and Harden might not even make All NBA Third Team. Obviously, the team is better without Dwight. The Lakers were flat out awful with Dwight. Yes, he made Finals in 2009 but that was because of, don't laugh, Hedo Turkoglu.Look. When Lakers got Dwight, Orlando fans warned them. When we got Dwight, dancing in the streets and all happy Laker fans warned us. If any of you can get a message to the FO, don't do it. Do not do it. I'm passing the torch and warning those that are even partial to the idea.
It all sounds well and good "We have the right organization for him, he won't be the main guy, if he just rebounds and blocks shots what can go wrong?" The issue is and has always been that Dwight doesn't want to do those things. He wants to be Hakeem. Him picking the Rockets was no coincidence, he worked with McHale and Hakeem and his post game is as good as it's ever going to get. (It's at best alright on a really good day) He wants post touches and when he doesn't get them he mopes about and apparently according to an insider complains about it. Ron Artest said it best about Dwight.
On Howard's limitations as an offensive player: "That's where I had an issue with Dwight sometimes because he's strong and he can rebound, he can block shots, he can dunk. But his moves are not polished yet. So to want the ball every time ... we're going to give it to you, because the franchise called for that, but he isn't going to score."
This is the issue for Dwight. Also, he's about the laziest picker you'll see. He never sets it hard, half of the time he's rolling to the rim just wanting the ball and not setting a good pick at all. When you can't run the PNR with Nash, Harden, or even Lawson then I don't know, that's an issue with you.
It makes sense, I know it really does. If he just runs the court, grabs rebounds, block shots and plays defense and gets the occasional garbage bucket he'll be great. He doesn't do that though, he demands touches and when he doesn't get them he becomes invisible. Funny thing is a Blazer fan on this site (Stand up whoever you are) kept saying the Rockets were better without Dwight and I don't think it's a coincidence that the Rockets had their best season when he was out for half of it.
Maybe it being his last big contract will humble him and he'll stick but honestly with other bigs out there that do know their roles and are happy to play them without question I'd target them. Someone is going to fall for that Dwight bait. He's a good guy though, he just doesn't realize what his role should be on the team and it screws things up.

2015
first round Warriors vs. Pelicans Jrue Holiday (among others) injured
second round Warriors vs. Grizzlies MiKe Conley injured
third round Warriors vs. Rockets Patrick Beverley injured
championship series Warriors vs. Cavs Kyrie Irving injured
2016
first round Warriors vs. Rockets Patrick Beverley injured
second round slated to be Warriors vs. Clippers Chris Paul injured
if the Trailblazers do advance, Lillard is doomed
but, on the other side of the bracket, Ty Lawson still lurks . . .
He sounds exactly like LaMarcus Aldridge. Maybe not exactly - he generally seems to be a good, fun guy.Look. When Lakers got Dwight, Orlando fans warned them. Yup. Lamarcus just seemed more passive about his doucheness. He sounds exactly like LaMarcus Aldridge. Maybe not exactly - he generally seems to be a good, fun guy.
Oh man - I learned something about him last night that I can't wait to share with you guys. I'll wait until summer - I don't think there's any way it'll be traced back to its source, but still want to wait a bit.Yup. Lamarcus just seemed more passive about his doucheness.
That is alarming. Lillard needs to play the second round in a suit of armor.Someone there found this alarming pattern.

No. That would imply that he, at one point, had balls. He's a eunuch?
Rice is hyping it up, I wonder if he's privy to any internal discussions.

With the Spurs as an ancillary player, sure. With the Blazers he was mediocre and held us back. Last I looked (haven't in a while) we are a more efficient offensive team now that he's gone. He was not good as a primary option. The bad apart about it is that if you give LMA the ball he can score.
