A reported three-team trade (as reported by Darren Wolfson of ESPN Radio, via blogs.trailblazers.com) between the 76ers, Wolves and Blazers, would send Nicolas Batum to Minnesota, Derrick Williams to Philly and Iguodala to Portland.
In theory it works out for everyone. Philly gets a rebuilding piece in former No. 2 overall pick Derrick Williams, Minnesota gets the guy they've coveted all summer in Batum and Portland gets someone ready to help them win right now.
There's only one problem: The Blazers aren't interested in such a trade. They'd rather keep Batum.
This makes absolutely no sense to me. Nicolas Batum is getting a big contract on potential alone, Andre Iguodala is a star right now.
Batum is younger, but Iguodala is still very much in his prime at 28 years old. Price isn't an issue either, as Batum is expected to receive a contract exceeding $50 million.
As a general rule, I don't think it's smart to pay 98 percent of the price for 70 percent of the player.
When Portland comes to their senses, this could be a good move for everyone involved. A Portland core of LaMarcus Aldridge, Iguodala, Damian Lillard and Meyers Leonard could be competitive for at least the next five years.
RUDY GAY!!
Is Nic the first guy in recent history, where the player wants to leave PDX on his own?
Gerald wanted to stay here, same with Dre/Camby/Trout/LA/BRoy/etc.

Whoever it is, it's not going to be an upgrade over Batum. That;s completely delusional. If the Wolves get their hands on Iggy their going to keep him, they aren't going to trade him AND draft picks for a player they could probably get by clearing cap space. Wolves need a 2 and a 3.
Whatever player is in this deal is going to disappoint you guys. Unless you really like Kyle Korver.
It could be Iguodala...
Philly just amnestied Brand and Williams has been considered more of a PF than a SF, he would slide right into that spot....and Philly drafted Harkless and is rumoured or have traded for Dorrell Wright and have Thaddeus Young on the roster whom they recently signed to a big deal....Lot of SF....
Lots of things adding up there.....
Maybe Korver might be part of the deal and sent to Philly as a b\u SG....where there is a void after Lou Williams left?
Thaddeus Young IMO would be better fit age wise, but POR could flip Iguodala in a trade at a later date (mid season, next offseason) if they need too....
If the Wolves are willing to trade Williams to the 76ers, why wouldn't they be willing to trade him to Portland?

Maybe they really did offer and Oshey is not interested.
Because Iggy is a much better player.
no chance it's Iggy. Most likely Korver, IMO. Ridnour to Chicago, Korver and 2picks here, Batum there.

Not Andre Miller, either. After his decade streak of starting every game was broken by McMillan, to start who again? Then Quick led the fans to hate him? Then McMillan yelled in front of the media to the future NBA coach that he didn't play right?
Club Blazers?
So far everything the rumor guy there has said this offseason hasn't happened, so I'm hoping he keeps his 0-fer.![]()
