Evan Turner becomes a Blazer

Wonder what this means for Crabbe (meat) and Cornbread Jr?

You guys are bashing Neil.... he tried to get quality guys. They don't want to play here. That is pretty obvious. This is our reality. We apparently live in the NBA wasteland.
Then don't carry a billion dollars of cap space into summer. He should know by now guys don't want to come here. Acquire some damn assets and trade for them.

There better be some team options or incentives built into that shit. I can't stomach a GM that pays 70 mil for 4 yrs for Evan fucking Turner.

He deserves it. If you figure out portland cant sign guys, you use your cap space in other ways instead of signing shitty players to one of the worst contracts in the league.

Fuck you olshey.

Neil could have used the cap space wisely, and put together a good roster even without top tier free agents, he squandered it on fools gold in Turner...what's next

he's a SF/SG combo right?

soooo where's he gonna fit in? whats the go with Crabbe? he was 6th man in boston i think, 18m a year for a 6th, ouch.

does this mean crabbe is goneskis?

Well, let's look at the positives; this contract will be moveable if need be, he is a good defender, he gets to the basket, he is kind of an Iggy-type player.
No its not. Its the worst contract in the entire league right now. Its not moveable. Its a fucking albatross.

I don't dislike Turner at all, I think he can be a good player but he can't really shoot which is something our offense really revolves around is the 3p line.

If the Blazers can make another signing this is not bad but were going down the Pistons build model from Billups/ Hamilton years get solid players who play Defense and such and hope it all comes together.

what is the damage in pre cap bonanza dollars? like 12ish? still crap but not the worst ever.

we are all going to have to wrap our heads around these deals, batum got 130mm or someshit

4yrs 94M for parsons. 4 yrs 70m for turner.

wow.

what a time to be alive!

(and a mid-level NBA player).

cannot wait to see what people throw at meyers, but it'll feel good to not be paying it.....

It's gonna be Turner/Rivers.... so we're not addressing our need at center at all.

I'm betting we do pay it unless we somehow still get Howard, who is most likely going to atl.

I really am fine with the move. Just not at that price!

Last summer we did value signings when we struck out. This summer we overspend on someone we shouldn't have.

Turner strikes me as being a very Harkless type of addition, obviously not as cheap but he is a pretty balanced player with ceiling still.

That's it.... I was right we are The Monteal Expos. If this is our big free agent move it's impossible to compete in this system. We will consistently groom players for other teams that we get by morgaging our immediate future. Neil is surrounding Lillard and McCollum with marginal talent in the hopes they make the playoffs. Well you got to tell season ticket holders something..... Wonder how long before Dame bails. At least we can match Crabbe and Harkless so we are essentially keeping them prisoner, Have fun guys I'll be in the bar.

You guys are missing the big picture here.

Olshey knows Turner from way back, and at Olshey's urging, Turner played poorly his first six years in the league so that Neil could sign him now at a reasonable cost.

You are about to see Evan Turner, Superstar next year.

That's what my sources tell me.

barfo

I'd rather have Austin Rivers!

This just screams of making a move to make a move....
It screams to me of making a move you don't really want to make to be able to make a move you'd like to make. Again, who does his agent represent?
