Evan Turner becomes a Blazer (3 Viewers)

You guys are bashing Neil.... he tried to get quality guys. They don't want to play here. That is pretty obvious. This is our reality. We apparently live in the NBA wasteland.
You're right, but I don't get it. Why is Memphis more attractive than Portland?? What the hell? Seems like you could start a team in Podunk, Mississippi, and have better luck drawing players than Portland.

Trying to be positive... Was Parsons & his bad knee worth $25 million more than Turner?
Parsons was only valuable to me if we were able to get Howard. Turner at 17 per is fucking stupid, unless we can now get someone else as a favor

Maybe.... do they have an income tax?

In case anyone's wondering, after renouncing Henderson/Kaman/Roberts and signing Turner to 70/4, we have approx. 8.2M cap space left. Not counting what we could generate by renouncing RFA's. Still the possibility of being further disappointed by another middling signing.

Turner did almost average 5 assists off the bench in 28 mpg last year. He can create and scores in the midrange. Outside of his 3pt shooting, he has identical stats to Parsons.

Just unfortunate that three point shooting is a MASSIVE deal in our offense.

Well, on the bright side, the team's moving to Seattle so he won't really be Portland's problem for long.
I hope so, so i dont have to watch evan turner on the blazers and can finally quit the team.

If we let Crabbe and/or Harkless walk for similar (or less) and get nothing in return, then this move becomes that much more confounding.......

I'm curious what other offers Turner had. I liked him as a college player, but since then... nada.... but Ohio State players have worked out so well for us... Ok, maybe Jimmy Jackson was okay?

Just watch.... we'll do a lopsided trade for Monroe or Kanter now. They make 17.1 million. We have roughly 8.3 million in space left. That means we need to clear 9 million to absorb one of those guys. Renounce Meyers or Harkless, trade Plumlee for Monroe/Kanter.

I bet that's the move.

why is everyone blaming Olshey. I can't see how it is his fault that Whiteside and Parsons are making what seem to me to be irrational decisions. I'm glad he had somebody else ready so quickly, give him some credit.

It's Gasol. And I doubt we can out pitch San Antonio to get him.

Then don't carry a billion dollars of cap space into summer. He should know by now guys don't want to come here. Acquire some damn assets and trade for them.

Does it occur to you that maybe he just did that? Adding a quality backup PG could mean having the ability to trade CJ for a major piece.

It's not the guy, it's the price. On the other hand, we all say cap space is pretty useless for the Blazers, so I dunno
