I do it everyday and it is somewhat pleasing to see an error by a famous Author survive some 110 year uncorrected. Well maybe it's only ninety some years. The Cruise of the Snark republished in 2003 where the original was published in 1907 has an error that jumped off the page at me. Me! I never catch errors as most of you do.

The error was in a section where London was tauting his navigation skills, perhaps even gloating. He said, "the Snark was closing on the destination at a 6 knots per hour gait.
What? Jack my man, knot is a distance and a rate, you never explain the time.

I feel better now, square with the world.
