Even Though I'm A Christian.....

I would think so. I suppose it depends on what you want to say about it.
I can say there's more whites in prison than blacks, so whites commit more crimes. Which is technically true. On a whole, more. But a higher percentage of the black population is in prison, which would then seem to say if the percentages were equal, that initial number would be untrue. That's obviously a generic example ignoring any change in society, whatever.
But if there's 5 million people in the world, and christians went around and wiped out half of them, I'd view that as a far worse atrocity than wiping out 20 million with a population of a couple billion.

So are you saying we shouldn't care so much about slavery cause at the time; it wasn't such a huge impact on the amount of people in the United States?

Atheism kill count far exceeds that by a mile. Soviet Union and Republic of China has been responsible for more than 20 million murders in the name of a union without God.

You think saying that 20 million people have been killed in the name of atheism is a fact. OK.

Hmm, not at all. Not sure why you always try to create some odd strawman like that to argue. Nope, slavery was a big impact. What happened in Russia and China was certainly a very large impact. I'm not trying to say what happened there wasn't big.

Yeah cause it was a mass murder. I wasn't technically trying to strawman. Just pointing out to someone that they post people killing in the name of Christianity as some dig; then they better take account for the atheists murdering millions.

Fact is; there are assholes from every walk. There are no exceptions

Mao 78M killed. About the population of the nation of Germany today. There's no diminishing it by using percentages or anything else.

That said, he didn't kill in the name of atheism. He may have been an atheist, but that wasn't his driving reason for doing much of anything.

Well I wouldn't say he speaks for atheists, just as many Christians wouldn't claim that the Catholics killed in their crusades.

The problem is communism must not believe in God because all are supposed equal. One of my employees was part of communist Russia. He is a Jew. He said that his family went to prison because of believing in a God. It's part of their society.

I left a church years ago because they kicked an entire family out because their son was gay. That's not Christian, IMO.

I would agree with you, Mags. It isn't Christian.

So you can recognize that just because a Christian does something wrong (turn away a gay sheep), it doesn't necessarily indict all of Christianity, and it doesn't mean the bad behavior was caused by Christianity, right?

This is true, plenty of a-holes to go around. But you go farther. It's a fallacious form of reasoning and you only do yourself a disservice by misrepresenting any position. In a debate, I would think that would be on par with conceding. It's quite hilarious. You actually imagine you know the motivation behind each and every death under Mao (wrong) moreover, that each death was necessitated by atheism (wrong) and that you know this because atheism is required for communism (wrong)? Is that about it?

Do you tend to go in for conspiracy theories too? Would that be a fair assessment?
