nah, I'm by LAX. I go to OC all the time though, I like to shop over at South Coast versus the LA Malls.

ever go to the Vietnamese "coffee shops". haha

I live in Irvine, the Spectrum is pretty nice, granted not as big as South Coast. I guess I'm just fascinated by Spectrum, cause I'm originally from Pasadena/Chino Hills/Riverside and Las Vegas (I moved alot...as you can see). And I know that Chino didn't even have a movie theatre until I was in elementary school. Before that we had to drive to Diamond Bar to watch movies...
uggh, hate that Diamond bar /chino hills /pomona area...i was there for a birthday party today....dunno, just kind of depressing vibe...i hate areas not by the water in LA.
Irvine is pretty cool. all strip malls though.
Irvine is a nice city. It has alot of asian people and stores (I'm chinese), so I don't have to drive to Rowland Heights for that. I live close to both the 5 and 405 freeways (right by the 133, so its easy to freeway hop to either freeway, or take toll road to 241/91 and visit my grandparents in Chino Hills off the 71).
I'm a huge food guy, I love trying new things. Tomorrow night I'm going to one of my favorite places to go (expensive as fuck though, the cheaper ones are too far away), a Brazilian BBQ place by the John Wayne airport called Agora.
oh man, I love Brazillian BBQ..was going to go to Fogo De Chao last week but it fell through. that place is insane.
Chinese food in Irvine isn't bad...Dim Sum!
The New Capital at Diamond Jamboree off of 405 and Jamboree has some good Dim Sum, was there last Wednesday.
Fuck, I'm hungry.
Thread Jackin'! I've been to China Garden a few tiems...love Sam Woo too.
You gotta try New Capital. That whole Diamond Jamboree area is cool.
They have an Ajisen Ramen (which a closer branch would be the San Gabriel one by the Hilton), a BDC Tofu House (Only like it cause its 24hrs, which means I can go somewhere not named Dennys!), Guppys (not a huge fan cause of the kids who go there, but they have shaved ice), a couple of bakeries, a Tokyo Table (expensive japanese food), and a Karaoke bar place upstairs (private rooms and everything).
Close to the district too, if you prefer going to Lucilles BBQ.
I'm now craving Roadhouse. I used to live near the Riverside one, but now the closest one is off Carson on the 605 in Long Beach. Need a 20oz Prime Rib.
Yeah, they opened up an Ajisen Ramen at Century City Mall...its ok...there are so much better places though. I go to the places around Sawtelle for that fix. BCD Tofu is pretty gangster. Dunno where that Diamond Jamboree center is, gotta peep it....

oh crap, i think my cousin used to live in one of those highrises out there.
sweet!
So long as it isnt a Tuesday or Thursday (I'm a junior at CSUF), I'm usually free. Just PM me before you come down.

what the hell is pho? im freaking out man!
sounds pretty good...but pretty blandIts a vietnamese soup/broth with noodles and protein...some veggies, you can throw in a bunch of stuff inside too.....its popular...dunno why, its pretty filling and hearty....
sounds pretty good...but pretty bland
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PhởIt tastes pretty good, and for $5-$7 (Regular-Large), I can't complain.
Garden Grove used to have a $2 Pho place. The portion itself was pretty decent, and for $2!!!
Speaking of food:
Kappo Honda and Honda-Ya
Japanese yakitori (skewers). It only gets expensive if you order non-stop. Great food, simple food, and for you drinkers (I don't drink alcohol, nor am I old enough to if I wanted to), its good food to go with alcohol.
There's a location of Honda-ya I go to in little tokyo sometimes after dodgers games....oh man, they have these fried baby octopus which are just AWESOME.
Yeah, if I want ramen I go to Mitsuwa. It's a japanese market off the 405 and Bristol, opposite side of the freeway from South Coast. It has a food court, with a korean vendor, a chinese vendor, a ramen vendor, a curry vendor, and a udon vendor. I ate there today before I had to coach, good food always, just during lunch rush good luck finding a table.
If you come down to Diamond Jamboree, I'll have to treat you to lunch someday.
