But still, Golden State is the two time defending champs. Gonna be very tough.
I actually consider this as a big time show of respect for what our team has done. Not 1 person foresees a Warriors sweep. Go back to the negativity after getting swept in the first round last year by the juggernaut Hornets.... This is a pretty big turn around in national sentiment.

Actually @Serbian nobody is "laughing at us.....predicting a sweep....or in five....." blah blah blah.
They were actually quite respectful and each had GS in six.
No need to embellish the bias, dude.
But he's talking g about the comments on the video.. and it's the same on Reddit. It may be stupid to care what anonymous people on the internet think (hah!) But that's what the OP is talking about.

Those were the picks for the first round.

Kenny Smith and Charles Barkley predict that Portland will beat the Warriors.

Warriors have won 3 of the last 4 championships. They seem to be able to turn it on when needed. They have incredible weapons and a style that is hard to defend. Portland is missing Nurkic, has a one-armed replacement, and their 6th man just hyper-extended his knee. All signs point to the Warriors winning the series, so it's not some radical idea to consider them heavy favorites...they are

it's still the same formula, Blazers need to bring their A game, try and steal one of the first 2, and let the chips fall.

speaking of chips, here's the thing that counts in my view: Portland has been playing with house money since Nurkic went down and they keep raking more into their pot. There's no pressure now and nobody but diehards (and for some reason, Charles and Kenny) expects the Blazers to threaten the Warriors. That's a good place for Portland to be

Heard today on espn radio from some clown who said “ game 7 blazers vs nuggets was not interesting because they were playing for right to get destroyed by GSW. I cringed. How beautiful to prove these haters wrong be uuuuuffffff

This franchise has been the "underdog" forever...welcome to Blazer fandom...the media rarely gives us this much ink...beat the Lakers and read about how the Lakers lost the game, not how the Blazers won it.....comes with the territory around here. Go underdogs!

I heard (didnt see it) that buchard and a couple other talking head / media types did pretty much laugh and say yeah the Blazers will lose in 4 or 5.

Few expected the Blazers to win against OKC or Denver, either. Heck, how many didn't even expect us to make the playoffs before the season.

We're big underdogs. We should be. But the players will decide this. Not the pundits.
Thats right, Im actually surprised so many have jumped on the band wagon! lol
Oh well, once we either win the whole enchilada or get bounced, it will be back to forum fodder.

I truly find this to be more true than ever. We (Blazers) must think and play one game at a time. No cliche, but an absolute. Tuesday - play their asses off and do everything it takes to win Tuesday.

We can talk about Thursday come late Tuesday night!

The players need to focus on one game at a time.

Us fans can focus or talk about any of them, we aren't on the team.

If it helps. They did everything I wanted for the year. Im gonna be a lot nicer this summer. That said I hope they beat GS!!!!

I been bouncing over to Warriors Forums.
They are really nice right now. All respect for Dame and talking about how Portland is a gutsy little team from up north.
Then they go on to say Warriors in Five because they need to be nice about not disrespecting Dame and the NBA will mandate it.

Pompous doesn't really cover it? And they don't think Curry (Seth) can even hold Steph's jock.
I wonder what Seth has to say about that?

I'm real nice in the summer around here. I mean like 20 comments in 3 months nice. Those come after the draft and when trades start. A couple about summer league. Then one or two about training camp.

I swear they were talking about Hood being helped to the locker room and Shaq said something like, "Man up."

What the hell? It's a hyperextended knee dumbass.
I remember Shaq at end of his career it wasn't pretty. Out of shape pulling ever muscle you can think of he was pathetic looking out there. Plus he would only play half year in most cases due to he was so far out of shape most of the time.

Yes he can he hold all the time at home when they were younger how dare they say that.

Are you sure he wasn't saying "next man up" ?

Quotes from NBA.com...series preview

"Seriously, though, Durant returning from a strained calf (which is the more likely scenario than Cousins) will impact the series greatly in Golden State’s favor. If Cousins recovers from his quad injury as well, then it gets to be a really unfair fight -- and likely a Warriors’ sweep"

"Meanwhile, the Warriors are bringing the usual cast of characters (minus Durant for the time being) and also have home court. Again, if Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green don’t become complacent and overconfident, this could be the least suspenseful conference finals in recent memory -- if it isn’t already."

I couldn’t stand watching Murray laughing at us in the 2nd quarter yesterday; I predict we’ll get the last laugh - again!

PS: check out the Denver Nuggets board

We should be going after the stars that are available this summer. Sign-and-trades will be possible.

Well I definitely think we have some quality tradeable young assets that can entice another team into taking on some of our ending contracts....if they know they are losing their star player regardless. Zach, Simons and a 1st along with ET, Hark, and Leonard should work. The question is how many of those assets and for who? AD would not be a sign and trade, but I bet we are looking better to him as well.

and from the SF Chronicle....

"The Warriors in 5 — Although the Blazers are capable of winning a game against Golden State, they don’t have the talent to seriously test the Warriors in a best-of-seven series. Portland’s best hope of making things interesting is that Golden State simply doesn’t play with urgency."

Seth for 30 in game 1 now

Kanter is going to fuck them up

I don’t give a crap about the sportswriters’ predictions. They have underestimated the Blazers at every turn all season long. What I care about is Dame and CJ leading the Blazers to their full potential, maximizing the individual talents of all of their teammates and hitting the Warriors with an intensity that knocks them backwards. If that happens, win or lose I’m happy and proud of this team beyond expression.

Yeah, he liked to start slow and 'play himself into shape' in time for the playoffs, LOL

"Man up" indeed.

So, apparently, it seems, maybe, the Blazers are the underdogs?

In every single season and every single playoff matchup?

Shouldn't the league 'like' a good underdog story?

They should put a small 'UD' on their jersey's.
