External HD broken?

i have a fantom external hd that doesnt work anymore. cant open its folder, see the files, anything.

i dropped it on my desk but it was a small drop. i've heard that even weak stuff can break an external hd. i dunno how true that shit is but for you computer guys, any suggetsions?

Yeah, it's most likely broken. The only thing I can suggest is putting it in the freezer overnight and trying the next day. This does work. Or you could pay a small fortune to get your files repaired. Once a hard drive is done, its done.
