I am not sure how many have actually read the history of Fascism. It appears to be, not many younger people have done their study.
The first to become Fascist were the Communist and Socialist in both Germany and Italy. Mussolini was the leader of the Italian socialist before founding the Fascist Party.
He was the darling of the American left's leader Woodrow Wilson.

Now here we are, nearly 100 year later, with groups like Anitfa, exhibiting socialist leanings in all their wants, while talking Anti Fascist but acting just like the original Fascists started by Mussolini and perfected under Hitler. They don't really appear to do anything except attempt to stifle the speech of any other group.

They're hypocrites. They talk about love and equality... and then they turn around and spew hate and anger towards anyone that disagrees with them.

Hatred is just that. Hatred. There is no moral high ground, no matter what fancy side of bullshit anyone might try to serve hatred with. Neither party is in the right. And nothing is going to move forward in a good way until both sides try to find some common ground. And so far, that ain't even close to happening.....I'm still trying to get the bad taste of the Right's hateful response to Obama's first election (and his second one for that matter) out of my mouth.....and who can forget Rush Limbaugh calling a 12 year old Chelsea Clinton "the White House dog"?? The Right has absolutely no f******g business pointing fingers......you reap what you sow.

That isn't what the thread is about. Why does the answer have to be "but the Republicans!!!!!"

I'm so tired of this two side bullshit. There is no lesser evil. Stop buying into the knee jerk reaction of "but the other guy!" Both sides are fucked up. It's time to break away. The two party system is killing this fucking country.

Basically what I was trying to say.....and why I voted Libertarian. I'm just pointing out that I too am tired of the hypocrisy. And you are the one who tried to pin "spewing hatred and anger" entirely on the left when it's a "left wing" group that any self respecting "progressive" despises. I refuse to accept that only one side is in the wrong and will continue to point out that fallacy anytime anyone puts out silly statements like the one you made pinning a huge and longstanding problem on a small group of idiots who have...at least for the moment....taken it to a more immediate level. Maybe if whatever party was in power made a serious effort to govern in the best interests of the majority we could get past that. But partisanship is the new American ideal. My point is that both "sides" are equally at fault and both sides need to get it fixed.

I haven't seen the right wing stifled by anybody...especially when it comes to speaking....a facist leader would be paranoid...not listen to his citizens and probably build a wall around his territory and instigate a police state. American is not facist ......and you don't know what people do with their lives....they might just insult posters on a sports forum or they might be finding a cure for cancer....people do a lot of things besides protest bad leadership. Here you can protest bad leadership and be a capitalist...a socialist....or even apolitical....you could be an atheist or religious fanatic.....America is complicated social science...yet we are neighbors and probably cheer together at a Blazers game. I know lots of folks unhappy with the govt and not one is a facist...just because you have a boat doesn't mean you're a pirate

I'm with UCD ....my vote was against the dysfunction of partisan power. I'm sick of people defining what real americans are...because they're a lot of things.

hate alone drains the joy out of the neighborhood no matter who you vote for.....we have a polarizing president...we deal with it as we see fit. when the lynch mobs start forming it's like a free pass for crazy folks....you can go to a public event and the loudest drunks get the ink....doesn't make them represent the right or left or middle....it's 15 minutes of fame...it's the Jerry Springer show...most people observe and comment...a few climb on stage and try to dance with the rock star...that's the one you see on TV that night....the talking heads are ignoring the observers and sensationalizing the streakers.

This. I'm tired of Liberals acting like Obama was the only President who ever got insulted. There was TONS of this shit when Bush was in office:

There are common core beliefs on both sides that even if you were to remove the labels Republican and Democrat. They still couldn't come together. They are as different as night night day on issues.

you know in the top right hand corner of every thread, there's an unwatch thread button....might just solve your problem....I enjoy rasta's posts. I enjoyed mags posts even though I didn't agree with him much, he kept a sense of humor about our disagreements for the most part...neither rasta or mags are counter punchers in debates....they both come out swinging
