Eye on Basketball: LaMarcus Aldridge and your defensive futility

Sometimes I think the only NBA some posters on here watch is the local games on Comcast.

Dude's got a DRtg of 102 on a team that isn't a good defensive team. He also has a DWS of 2.5, which is both handily better than Aldridge. Their PER's are essentially the same. I don't understand why that proposal is insane like you think. A top 5 Center in the league who is 5 years younger than Aldridge, a much better defender and just a hair less effective offensively and a better passer out of the post. To top it off you get a young glue guy like Singler to bolster the bench and a helluva backup PG in Bynum.

Aldridge is a fine player. But, some of you act like he's some kind of superstar who's going to piggy back this team to the promise land.

Don't think I wouldn't be insanely surprised and excited to get Monroe; just not for the price of Aldridge.

Exactly. People keep saying Monroe doesn't get double teamed, as if that's the selling point. How often did LaMarcus get double teamed at 22? Saying age is not a factor when talking about accomplishments like making the all star game doesn't make any sense.
