I'm curious how this works. If he decides he wants to go to a team like the Clippers, and they don't have any cap space, can he still force his way in there? Similarly, in imaginary happy land, if LeBron decided he wanted to be a Portland Trail Blazer, would the Heat actually accommodate that?

Yes and Yes.

Heat wouldn't accept losing him for nothing. Although they could call his bluff as they know LeBron won't settle for MLE.

Welp, I would easily offer up Wes and Batum and just about anyone else not named Dame or LaMarcus.

Wouldn't be the best package they could get but also wouldn't be the worst package they could get. What would the Clips be up for parting with? DeAndre and Reddick? If it didn't have Blake in it then we beat that offer.

I'm told Mo Williams just met with the Dallas Mavericks. Positive momentum, but obviously team is waiting on Melo first before Mo & others.

The offer doesn't even necessarily matter because, like you said, he has the power to leave. The Cavs got jack shit when he left Cleveland. Sending the Heat someone like Batum and Wes would be much more than Cleveland ever got. The Heat wouldn't even be that bad off because they could re-sign Wade and Bosh and still have a decent core.

This summer will be the summer of bloated contracts. I hope our brass doesn't fall victim to the madness

Name of one target Miami is trying to secure for LeBron has emerged: Sources say Heat making push for perimeter specialist Anthony Morrow

Word is both Heat and OKC Thunder are chasing Morrow. As was Orlando, I'm told, until Magic secured their deal with Ben Gordon as well

Message here is Heat are chasing realistic targets to fit in around LeBron, Wade and Bosh. Never had a real shot at the Lowrys and Gortats

Wow, it's looking more and more like LeBron is leaving.

I don't see other teams trying or talking about getting Lebron. While Melo does his wine and dine tour, no organization seems to be doing that for Lebron. Makes me think, among other reasons, that everyone knows Lebron is going to re-sign with Miami.

But I hope I'm wrong . . . not a heat fan.

He should, and wade and bosh shouldn't have opted out. What a shit show

lebron doesn't care about the wine and dine.

Re: Mo Williams, I'm told his desired team is Dallas. Also a close friend of Monta Ellis. Both from Jackson, Miss.; have run camps together.

Remember reading LBJ will not talk with any teams, allowing his agent to do all the talking, they can't wine and fine him if he's not there.

I have a feeling he is gonna swoop in last minute to a team on an extremely low contract and look like a hero.

Starting to get very concerned for the backup PG position for the Blazers.

Collision could of been had for the MLE. Does Nelson have any game left? I like Blake but I see the backup PG having a significant role on the Blazers (so Lillard can slide to the SG position every now and then) and don't know if Blake is that player.

There's always Kirk Hinrich...

I still think Greivis Vasquez would be a good pick up and, while defense is bad, you can probably hide him on 2's while CJ or Barton guard 1's. He has experience playing next to a ball dominant PG, can run the break, very confident. If we could get him at a good price I don't think he and Frye or McBob would be a bad offseason.

I like Vasquez as well, but I think there's something of a mutual love affair between him and Toronto.

It would be nice to have a backup guard who was actually a good defender, though.
