Don't think for a second they are going to stop mining nickel because of Toyota Prius....and you should include all the other applications that use nickel or copper...it's going to be used. I did extensive research when buying mine and for every detractor, there are plenty of supporters. I read an article this morning about most of the Prius hate is not actually the car, but the folks that drive them...sort of the old Asian driver stereotype.

I tried all of them, including the Honda and I couldn't disagree more...my son's college roommate actually sold his Civic hybrid after comparing them...driving a hybrid is different and I think some folks don't quite understand the difference is how you accelerate one. Took me a couple of weeks to get used to it. Now I don't notice. There's also a considerable difference between the low end Prius and the higher end model. I don't care for the low end one much at all....mine is much better made and more comfortable. Vision is great. I also drive a 4 cyclinder truck that's not a hybrid and gets good gas mileage...the Prius is a much better car than my truck.
I just can't bring myself to want one.
There is another issue... The Prius has a Made in America rating of 1.5 %. This in itself puts it out of the question for me. There is no car wholly "Made in the U.S" but there are many that rate above 80%. Those are the only cars i will ever buy.

To each their own I guess. I just can't stand driving a prius. And I've driven 3 different models. The one civic I drove blew the others out of the water in drivability, guts and performance. But that's just me. I don't hate people that drive a prius, I just am not a fan.

problem with any type of game show winnings is like almost 50% tax. so winning that shit car cost him like 11 grand probably. now he has to sell it used cause its not on the lot so it lost 3-4k worth of value immediately, so if it's a 22k car he's out 15k, he might get 6-7k i suppose. i dont know how much a prius is either.
