Yeah and he's got the size to play next to McCollum. It's not like Napier is some sniper either so I don't know what we'd miss exactly.

His measurements at the pre draft was 6.1" 222 lbs. What is he now? That sounds ....wide

Yeah I just watched his college highlights. He looks like he could have been a solid safety.
His highlights were not impressive. Did he improve his shooting?
It's hard to tell. He hit his shots in this scrimmage, but we don't see how he shoots regularly in practice. So, the jury is still out. He's definitely known more for driving and slashing. He looked pretty comfortable out there today. He plays a bit like Eric Bledsoe. Could be a scrub, or could turn into a real player. That outside shot is going to be the reason for one or the other. I hope he makes the team though.

Whilst Swanigans athleticism is underwhelming (and will prob be his limiting factor), I'm really impressed with his BBIQ.
Swanigan = Savvy. His comfort on the court belies his experience ( or lack thereof ).

Good to see Davis looking like his old self - that will really help us.
Unfortunately Meyers looks like his old self too.

CJ is a killer. Making it look effortless. Hoping this is the season where he puts the NBA on notice.

He's also got a 6'9 wingspan. He's got the measurables to guard bigger (taller) players.
Yeah good point. His standing reach is pretty good at 8'3" 1/2 (better than CJ or Dame anyways)

Briscoe is a bully when attacking the basket. If he got any sort of consistency with his shot he'd be a starting caliber player. That's worth carrying as your 15th man.

Agree. More potential than 15th men from past seasons.

I'm sure we could trade Napier though. He's relatively cheap and a RFA after this season. Worth a look for some team. He's never gonna play heavy minutes here. We'd be doing him a favor.

Was Briscoe projected as a draft pick at any time? I think he would have made an impression in the SL with the way he played today.

He was an elite 5 star college recruit. Problem at Kentucky was the abundance of guards. Forced him to play out of position and never really got a shot to run the offense. He was signed by the sixers in summer league but barely played. He's been my player to watch because I feel like he slipped through the cracks.

Swanigan has an advanced feel for basketball in general. Even on defense he knows how to go straight up. You can just tell his bball IQ is high.

Collins is going to be really good. He will impact both ends of the court, something we can't say about any big on our roster outside of Nurkic.

I am ok with keeping another PG like Biscoe as the 15th man, but I would not get rid of Napier until Briscoe shows he can shoot better than this:

5 of 37 3-point attempts, and 46% of his free throws, contributing to his very poor 46% true shooting percentage, and the fact that opposing teams didn't even pretend to try and defend him on the perimeter by the end of the season, making things very difficult on his teammates. - Source: http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Isaiah-Briscoe-7140/ ©DraftExpress

Maybe give him a year to develop?

Yeah he needs to develop but it's not like Napier will be in the rotation either.

My question right now who do you think going back up Nurk?

Yeah he needs to develop but it's not like Napier will be in the rotation either.

He will if there is an injury. He proved last year that he is an NBA player. Briscoe has not proved that yet...as an un-drafted rookie.

Exactly he's only going to play in an emergency. I'd rather keep the guy with the higher upside instead.

As long as he proves he has upside. His 5 star rating means nothing to me. There is a reason he did not get drafted. Lot of young players improve, but a lot don't. You don't get rid of Napier unless Briscoe earns it first.

Not bad! Swanigan had a stretch there where he was single-handedly trying to bring the grey team back and Collins looked useful and had a nice block and some good footwork.
“Useful” what like a roll of tape? Shit, draft day this place had him headed straight to the hall of Fame
