I know that I, as a fan, am feeling more fatigue right now than I remember ever feeling before. And I am worried that the team will be feeling it also and that there could be even worse times ahead before it gets better.
Even before this rash of injuries, it seemed like the team had to put out extra effort every night to make up for the "Batum effect", having to play four on five every night. Now with the injuries, guys like Matthews and Kaman are trying to put out superhuman efforts every night, but how long can they keep that up as the team is not winning?
It's quite disappointing that no one from the bench has really stepped up to make a consistent positive contribution to the team. Leonard pretty much has to shoot 60% on offense to make up for his defensive deficiencies. Robinson is putting out consistent effort but just doesn't seem to be able to cut down on the mental mistakes. McCollum and Barton, well you see them every night....... Blake actually might be trying too hard and as a result is making terrible turnovers. The boxscore showed him having one last night, I saw three and that's in 15 minutes.
So I am worried that with the strain of trying to keep up without the missing guys and with the weak support from the bench, that the Blazers could have somewhat of a collapse until people get back. I'm hoping somehow Matthews and Kaman can keep it up, Lillard can find his shot again and at least one guy from the bench can show some consistent spark.
