I honestly haven't done any independant reading in over a year or so aside from a book I picked up for a bus ride back home from school this past winter break, called <u>The Cosmic Game: Explorations of the Frontiers of Human Consciousness</u> by Stanislav Grof. My friend said it changed his life. It didn't have quite that big of an impact on me, but I did enjoy his perspective on parapsychology.

As for all-time favorites, I've read everything Oscar Wilde's written and love it all. I've also been trying to get into Nietzsche, but I just haven't had the time to read more than three or four of his essays. I'm fascinated by existentialism though, so I'll probably be reading more of him in the future.

Grof is good people. Nietzsche is good too. It was hard for me to get into him, but hell I was about 15-16 when I started reading his stuff. I had no perspective.

the Giver is by Lois Lowry. its part of series, with the other books being Gathering Blue and the Messenger. Gathering Blue isnt directly related to the Giver, but the Messenger picks off where the Giver left off.

Favorites are:

The Dragonlance Chronicles.
Winter, Fall, Autumn, and of course Summer Flame. Can someone say Tasselholf???

Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series.
It has slowed down to a crawl, but the first five books were GREAT!!!! Rand al Thor and the Aei Sedai kick bootay!!!

A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin!
I can't wait for A Dance with Dragons. Jon and Tyrion are my favorites!

)

I do some reading every now and then. I can't really pick any favorites but the two that I've really liked are The Client by John Grisham and Velocity by Deen Koontz. I can't remember some of the other ones I liked, I'll have to check my bookshelf at home.
