Nets rookie forward Derrick Favors struggled mightily in the preseason, but his play so far this season has been refreshing.

He's averaging a double-double and shooting 58% from the field in the early going and a league executive told Ken Berger of CBS Sports that Favors' "stock has skyrocketed."

New Jersey had hoped to use Favors in a trade to acquire Carmelo Anthony from Denver before the season, but the Nuggets weren't sold on what the Nets were offering.

The Nuggets are now believed to be in wait-and-see mode in terms of what they'll be offered and how they play this season.

Carmelo doesn't even want to play for the Nets. Screw him. Keep Favors instead of acquiring a disgruntled immature forward.
