Be careful what you post here after a Blazers loss, the FBI may plant a fake bomb and arrest you for terrorism. :tsktsk:

CHICAGO — Undercover FBI agents arrested an 18-year-old American who tried to detonate what he believed was a car bomb outside a downtown Chicago bar, federal prosecutors said Saturday.

Adel Daoud, a U.S. citizen from suburb of Hillside, was arrested Friday night in an undercover operation in which agents pretending to be terrorists provided him with a phony car bomb. The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Chicago said the device was harmless and the public was never at risk.

Daoud is charged with attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction and attempting to damage and destroy a building with an explosive. The FBI began monitoring him after he posted material online about violent jihad, federal prosecutors said.

I'm sure PapaG will join me in protesting this violation of Free Speech!

oldest trick in the book

but heres a hint on how not to fall for it

tell them "no thanks, i dont want your bomb, because i dont want to blow anything up"

Amazing how simple it is, isn't it?

Entrapment sucks, but I would guess that most people who were "entrapped" were actually guilty in the first place.

Whats the old saying, true character is defined by what you do when you think no one is watching?

i think this one is the most shiesty

"hey, want to buy this pound of weed for $100?"

"sure!"

"youre under arrest!"

i think this one is the most shiesty

Or when the FBI approached Randy Weaver and asked him to saw of the barrel of a shotgun for $300 and then arrested him for making a sawed off shotgun.

Which is exactly why they target impressionable teenagers who spout off on the internet. Because they are easily brainwashed by the FBI into doing things they would not actually ever do otherwise.

I doubt this kid was any more dangerous than PapaG or BenDavis503.

I don't have a problem with this. The kid was posting some bad stuff. The FBI, basically, asked if he was serious enough to back up his words and he was. Busted. But Maris, let's say rather than the FBI it was some hate group and the bomb was real. And let's say he killed 20 people. And the FBI had been monitoring him. Then you'd say the FBI was responsible for killing 20 people. This makes you look pretty disingenuous.

If he was that impressionable and easy to brainwash, I'm glad the terrorists didn't get to him first.

This "impressionable teenager" is of the age of consent and able to vote. He chose to spout anonymously on the internet about "violent jihad", then somehow dropped his cover and decided to take a "weapon of mass destruction" from someone and attempt to set it off in order to kill people and damage property.

Impressionable, trapped, stupid, whatever...we will probably being paying for a lifetime worth of room and board for this piece of human garbage.

For the record, I fully support 3ra1n1ac's post #2.

Hmm..."impressionable, easily brainwashed teen"?

In or about May 2012, two FBI online undercover employees
(“OCEl” and “OCE2”) contacted Daoud in response to material Daoud posted
online and thereafter exchanged several electronic communications with
Daoud. During these communications, Daoud expressed an interest in
engaging in violent jihad, either in the United States or overseas, referred to
his ongoing efforts to recruit other individuals to engage in violent jihad, and
mentioned that he had discussed plans for an attack with “trusted brothers.”
So at the time the FBI contacted him and attempted to brainwash him, he had a network set up, discussed plans for an attack, and was involved in "ongoing efforts to recruit individuals to engage in violent jihad". And he obviously wasn't being brainwashed by his religious authority:
The Affadavit said:
On or about May 29, 2012, Daoud wrote that “even my
sheikh in my masjid was talking to me about NOT talking about jihad.”
Daoud continued: “sometimes [my sheikh] even mentions verses of jihad (from the Quran) and i almost think he going to call for it then he has
something general like be a good example or something. lol man I will be the
opposite.”
And it's not like he didn't understand the concept.
The Affadavit said:
On or about June 3, 2012,(ed: 2 weeks after being contacted by the FBI) OCE1 asked whether Daoud has
“friends in America” who “support jihad too,” to which Daoud responded: “i
know a few brothers who support jihad and im trying to ‘brainwash’ more
brothers into supporting it...if i don’t start my own group
(where i am from) then i will go over seas. in each case i will let
you know. im trying to invite people to go with me to the cause of
Allah. but man is hard to tell people to be terrorists.”

And in his initial meeting with the FBI:
The Affadavit said:
Daoud also informed the UCE of his justifications for killing
civilians. Daoud said, “you can’t really take these people as regular people.
They’re like, more like robots.” Daoud continued, “even the decent, nice
people, most people in this country,” even those who “hate the president” and
oppose “the two wars,” they’re still “for the war on terrorism.”

why tell the public that they started monitoring him from the internet though? kind of gives guys a heads up if they didnt already know

No, I would not say the FBI was responsible for killing 20 people. That's absurd. And had they continued monitoring the kid, if he was actually serious, it would have eventually led them to people who make real bombs and they could have arrested genuine terrorists rather than CREATE a terrorist for the sake of making themselves look good.

An embarrassment for what the FBI has sunken to, and a complete waste of tax dollars which were meant to protect us from genuine threats.

If you support this, then you should be more than happy to pony up the millions it will take to prosecute and support him in prison for life.

The other way is to know what you are doing and check the goods out carefully, and then say "sorry, bud, this is totally fake. Bring me the real shit or I ain't doin' anything with it."

Anytime the FBI comes after me, I make them blow up something first - something of my choosing - to prove their bona fides. Or kill somebody, that works too. Although they've always got spare agents for that, so it isn't as convincing. Can't tell you how many FBI agents I've seen garroted.

No claim at all from the FBI that he posted anything criminal or even threatening, no mention of jihad or accomplices or plans of terrorism UNTIL WEEKS AFTER being contacted by the FBI and having several conversations with the undercover agents.

Pretty clear they they created this "criminal" who never posted anything about violence until after weeks of programming by the FBI. Even then, he is basically charged with doing less than the equivalent of what PapaG, maxiep and Denny Crane all posted a few days ago in the embassy thread. They talked about nuking entire countries and committing genocide...When can we expect the FBI to start setting them up for an arrest? :dunno:

As Maris says, there are guys on this board every day screaming for massive violence against masses of people. If all these kids the FBI keeps setting up got 6 months, it would be one thing, but they get 60 years.

Worse than that cost is that each of these annual fake terrorist crimes costs the taxpayers billions of dollars. How? Because each fake furore is used to justify an annual increase in the Homeland Security budget. There have been accusations that these fake crimes, similar to when Cuba is provoked to shoot down a plane, are timed for when Congress is about to consider legislation, such as spending.

In the Spanish Civil War, with Hitler helping Franco, many Americans fought in Spain as the Lincoln Brigade. Now, when a guy wants to go overseas and fight in a war, he gets 60 years. To help the legal case, the FBI talks him into planning to attack people in this country, but I think it says that this kid's original intent was to go overseas.

They did this in the Vietnam War too, in the Washington Monument case. A year ago or so they did this to 2 semi-retarded Muslims. I think it was in New York. I forgot, but this is about the 5th setup case in the last 5 years. It's an annual event, spread out for maximum budgetary effect.

This atrocity is clearly ripe for an exposé. Maris, it's high time you revealed to the world exactly how the FBI operates. You should go undercover, posing as an angry Islamic youth, and document the FBI's efforts to entice you into mass murder. It would make for a great blog, if not a book deal.

People and Presidents have been killed for much much less, but how the FBI "operates" has been documented ad nauseam. Go to the library and pick up a book sometime.

I bet the driver of the car and the mothers, fathers, children around the car are pretty damn happy with the FBI right now. I know I would be. Now I hope they just put a bullet in this fucked up kids head instead of me having to pay for Cinemax for him in prison

How many of these kid terrorists are created by the FBI, then lost track of only to come back and actually commit acts of terrorism?

Something to think about.

Repped.

Cut through all the BS, all the bleeding heart garbage, and this what it all boils down to.

Wanna buy a bomb to blow up people?

Wanna AK 47 to shoot kids on a collage campus?

Make statements that you want to do these things?

Hells bells, you are baiting your Own hook.

You get what you ask for.
