Zombie Festus Ezeli becomes a Blazer

I like Ezeli, guy is here for the right reasons. Said mine is not everything, wanted to be here because our chemistry and how we play together...had mad respect for us in the playoffs...and of course the fans, he loves the fandom here...plus says his knees are 100%....we got the right guys this summer!
All that proves is that he's savvy enough to kiss ass. (Nothing inherently wrong with that).

Yeah.. my take away is that he had eye contact and seemed to have thoughtful answers... I mean, yeah he's going to talk about the fans, but I looked at the more deeper stuff and to me he passed the sniff test.

Muslim? Half the population is, and they (theoretically, anyway) don't drink alcohol.

I like tea myself. Good signing.

I wonder if Ezeli was tired of the christian vibe in golden state's locker room, and now with Bogut and Ezeli gone it has become even less diverse in that regard.

I know it seems a minor point and it certainly may be for Ezeli and others in that locker room, but it is certainly possible.

Yeah, boy, being around Christians is pretty darned repugnant. Oh, the agony.

It doesnt matter, but since you brought up his faith, not sure why you think he's muslim or "tired of the christian vibe". He went to Jesuit High School and reads books written by christian pastors.

Right, i wasnt debating that, it actually makes my point, that he's not muslim

Properly excited about this signing to be honest. I wanted Whiteside at first but Ezeli could easily develop into a similar player for a much lower price with a much better character. He was very good for Warriors at the beginning of last season during that great run, he was very good against us in the playoffs too. $7M a year is extremely shrewd as well.

IMO we've quietly had a great Summer so far. It has largely gone unnoticed due to all the frenzy around Durant to Warriors move but we got ourselves two very fine players with proper character and it looks like we'll keep Harkless on top of it.

Festus went into FA looking for near-max numbers.

I have to wonder about his physical - is there an expiration date on those knees?

His agent might have, but he clearly states money wasn't the deciding factor..and his contract proves that to be true..this is one of the rare guys who really wanted to be part of the Blazers roster. It just doesn't get better than this. David West turned down a small fortune to sign with the Spurs for nothing but wanting to have a shot at a ring. Sort of a photo negative of the DHoward option

I'm not saying the Blazers were his last choice, but I think this is more about the last two people without a partner at the school dance.

Sullingers dance card hadn't been punched yet, so there were a couple of wall flowers at the dance

Skepticism is the root of scientific inquiry. Without it, you never question that the earth is flat, or that the earth is at the physical center of the universe.

good point, but string theory is all about exploration of possibilities...skepticism is the opposite of infinite possibilities...Ezeli said his knees are 100 percent..that the second surgery corrected the problem and he was fixed....it's just possible he's talking about something demonstrable..

I honestly have no idea what balky knees have to do with string theory? Ezeli has had multiple knee injuries (while in Golden State) and has missed significant time. Repetitive injuries are directly correlated with further injury (compromised structures are never fully restored). Thus, I find it doubtful he's past all of his knee troubles.

That doesn't mean I'm rooting against the improbable.

I just looked it up and he's had one knee surgery 2 years ago...one sprained ankle..and a minor procedure to clean debris out of that knee last season...that's only one major knee operation...he's young. He has both meniscus. This guy graduated from high school with high grades at 14 years of age!
